we just got ours last week and the black r/t is one of the first Nitros on the road in Flanders, Europe...actually Nitro only appeared in the showrooms since last may...we already got in love a year ago when we first saw the car on internet...had a little trouble convincing my wife because of the basic interior, but now she treats the R/T like her 4th child...we have the leather, seats, MyGig and the DVD in the back...3 kids LOVE the car

We (my wife and my 15 yrs son) saw the Nitro preview last year in some newspaper. We immediately fall in love !
We like cars that not lots of people buy and the Nitro is one of it.
My dream is to buy a Hummer, but i think i can never buy one. Maybe if one day i'm a winner of a lottery !!!

We have our Nitro since July 07 and we love it.

Next week I'll be a Nitro owner. I like the car for its looks. My wife doesn't, but I drive it mostly so she let me decide. I prefer to sit on a higher seat (back problems). So I can chose a MPV or SUV. I have had some MPV's before. The Nitro is a reasonable priced car. You don't see Nitros in every street, like some other midsized (for Europe) SUVs. I have seen a few Nitros in the field. I can't tell you about how it feels to drive one and what respons you get.

I'm sure you will enjoy it once you get a chance to be behind the wheel! Post some pics once you get it, we'd love to see it! What part of The Netherlands are you from? My best friend's (in grade school and high school) mother was from Eindhoven.

Hi Waldorf, I am from the South of the Netherlands too. Eindhoven is about 80 km from where I live. I live at the border (5 km) from Belgium. I know the city of Eindhoven. Probably you have heard of the Multinational company called Philips (electronics). It is based in Eindhoven. I'll send you my Nitros pics asap.

Yes, I knew that about Philips. I would like to see some pics of your Nitro near some Dutch landmarks.

Hi
Finally i found some time to take and post some pics of our new R/T.
My wife whom i had a hard time to convince to choose Nitro is now a very happy driver; the drive is smooth, the leather seats are nice and sit very well,
mygig is great (although we still need to find out all the options) and dvd system in the back makes my kids very happy. Only problem is that my wife
monopolized the car(its her company car) and i only get to drive it in the weekend ...

Hello Dutch Nitro We, or I should say the wife, bought the Nitro based on looks, and the size of the vehicle being just right for us. We like having one "wagon" in the family. The wife is from Rotterdam by way of Almelo (O). I met her just south of Enschede while on assignment there. Still amazes me she made the transition from the smaller European type cars to the Nitro. Must have been in the States too long already!! Great a few Nitros are on the road there. Will keep an eye out next time we are over. Can't believe the VAT they get though!!!

I bought my Nitro for the following reasons, in order of most important to least:

1. One of very few midsize SUV's with a 6-Speed Manual 4WD and a V6
2. Value
3. Styling
4. Towing capacity
5. Real, 4WD that locks front and back axles rather than AWD
6. Rear wheel drive when in 2WD mode (many small/midsize SUV's have FWD in 2WD mode.
7. Desire to help save Chrysler -- Toyota does not need, nor do they deserve my money.

hi Waldorf
Flanders is the Northern region of Belgium. I guess you are not aware but
Belgium is slowly disintegrating into parts; the flemisch speaking and the french speaking part. At this time we don't have a new government for 4 mths now since the elections.

Thanks for the clarification. I had no idea what was happening in Belgium. Does this mean the country will separate, sort of like Czechosolvakia did a number of years ago?

I know from my history that "Flanders" was a well known battle, for Canadian's it was anyway, from World War I. The famous battlefield poem "On Flander's Fields" was tought to us in school as part of Rememberance Day celebrations.

Belgium could go Czech way, but it will not happen overnight...
and yes Flanders(and Belgium) has been a major battlefield through history
WW1 : 4yrs long thousands fell in the area of Ypres (there are some Canadian military cemetaries there)...in WW2 the battle of the Bulge(the final surge of the nazis) and earlier : battle of Waterloo (Napoleon's downfall)...in the ages before that Flanders was a constant stage for war and occupation...

some history exchanges on a car site ....
