I have a silver nitro slt with the chrome grille surround but i like the way the r/t looks with a body color surround. Does anyone know if you can get the grille surround from dodge.

most likely you can but it would come unpainted. you would have to get it color matched and painted

Are you sure. I did the same thing to my 2002 dodge ram and it came painted flame red

well most body parts come unpainted but who knows maybe dodge does it different. only one way to find out. call up a dodge dealer and ask. they would know. and i'm pretty sure they could get one for you cause they have to be able to order body parts in case someone wrecks their vehicle.

i'm interested in this same mod,if i can remove the surround it could be painted.let us know what happens,maybe i'll contact dodge myself and post any info i gather

you can..

i bought the grille surround from the R/T from my dealer. it was a little pricey around 550$ but it looks sick....it comes painted already from the factory.

I think it would be cheaper to take of the chrome one and give it to a paint shop. They can strip it down and body match it cheaper than $550.

but u run the risk of breaking it and having to get a whole new piece, color not matching or flaking off if not done correctly. then ur really gonna spend money. i thought it would be better to get the entire piece already painted from the dealer which would order a new one with any problems

I want to do the same thing. These surrounds are plastic aren't they? Anyone know how they come off? Looks to me they just pop in and out?
