My Parking Button lost its tension so after being advised to replace the whole unit I pulled the button out with pliers & a broken spring fell out from behind!.
It’s attached to a plastic rod with C shape at end. ( picture attached)
After disconnecting battery for a couple of hours re air bag next to parking brake I removed the centre console & fed the button rod back through the Lever,Then pushed C end on plastic

rod onto metal plate inside Parking brake. All works again. Hope this saves you guys money.

You said you had a broken spring, which spring was broken?, how did you repair the broken spring ?,

There is a little spring behind button( you can see it in picture . I had a box of springs in my garage so popped one in.

I see, thats why you where advised to change the lever assembly, because of the broken spring,

you where lucky to find a spring the correct size and tension, Well Done,
