No these are not vanity plates, they are actual license plates. Why the price you ask, theyre 1 of a kind and if someone wants em theyll pay that for em..:)

maybe things are different in Oz, but in the US, if you personalize plates, which means YOU pick the wording they are called Vanity/Specialty plates. mines are personalize/vanity/specialty/legal and they say mean1 and all for the low price of $85 maybe, give or take a couple of $$

someone in the states may not be able to legally use the got nitro plate due to the too many letters or that they are NOT US gov. plates

Isn't every plate a "one of a kind" plate?
lol....in Texas they are for a fact 'cause the one I wanted "Meanie" and any variation of the word was taken.

Beam me up, Scotty, they are NUTS down here!

Ah, but my custom plates don't really have anything to do with the Nitro.

But I like 'em.

Methinks I've stepped over the line into Trekkiehood.................

Plate:
12BEMUP
Frame: MY OTHER CAR IS A STARSHIP

If that's not a Trekkie plate, I don't know what is!

i am going to get a custom plate because my backup cam covers up the word Oklahoma on my tag and you can get pulled over for that so i am getting one that is bank in the top. I am debating on 317718 witch is BILLIE upside down in numbers. or 1928374 witch is at the beginning of the numbers and the end of the numbers and back and forth. it is something hard to remember so if i cut someone off it will be hard to remember my plate but i will have a custom plate with no Oklahoma on it.

Hi guys,

First post. Here we go.

Things are a little different here in OZ. With each of the States having substantially different pricing for a whole range of plates. In my state, custom plates can range from around $300 to $2000 dollars directly from the Department of Transport. These are then yours for life - you then only pay your annual motor vehicle registration fee.

You can sell them though and some plates have gone to auction for up to $20,000.

Here's my local DOT site for designing your own plates - www.ppq.com.au

Hiya, HINT-MS ... and welcome!

Yeah, quite different to what happens here in the State.

Each state has it's own plates, it's own laws regarding how they're made and distributed. In Washington State (not to be confused with Washington DC), custom plates can be obtained for an extra $40-$50, plus an extra $30 or so for annual renewals. Many of the plates see the extra fees going to support special funds, such as Endangered Wildlife or something. The plate stays with the owner, and can be transferred to a different vehicle owned by the plate owner.

Methinks that Joe is a nerd who hides behind a big truck, but aren't we all!

So I have had a look at the plates left and have narrowed it down the following.

NNITRO
N9TRO
MR9TRO
MRWEST

Any thoughts? N9TRO is my fave so far
