Poor heater performance?

Ok, I picked up my Nitro 2 hours ago. Does anybody else have a problem with the heater performance? It just never seems to heat up inside the car. Makes a ton of noise but just doesn't seem to do much.

I would say something might be wrong. I know when I start mine in the morning, it'll just about run me out after about 10 minutes. Nitro doesn't have a spot in the garage yet and it's been in the low 30's over night.
Couldnt answer that questions...its been in the 80s here :) The A/C sure does work well :D But I prefer the windows down and the sunroof open
Yeah, just drove 40 minutes straight and still no heat. I called the dealer and I am taking it in first thing tomorrow. Hopefully this isn't a indicator of things to come with the Nitro!
We have cool/cold and warm/hot........just as it should be. I think you have won the lottery and got the (hopefully) only prize out there.
well its freeezing here...like 55'F so I had heat on on my way home and it worked nice :) So Id recommend taking yours to dealer!

I haven't noticed the same problem with my Nitro. I didn't park it in the garage last night so it sat outside all night. It was 40? F this morning and the heater was blowing hot in just a few minutes.

I would take your Nitro back to the dealer and let them check it out.

Good luck!

It's 39'F for some reason here in Houston so I just used my heater on the way to class..it worked quite nice..the only thing that seems different is that on high fan the output didnt seem as much as Im accustomed too but it seemed to do the job quite nice
Well, verdict was that it's broke. Parts are gonna take about a week to come in. So, I didn't even have it 24 hours! Looks like i'll be driving a new F150 for a week - at least the Ford has heat!

did they figure out what exactly is broke? hrmm a Dodge dealers give you a ford vehicle
They said the flap (or door) that opens and shuts to let heat through was not functioning. They tried to just rig it up so it would stay open till the parts came in but no luck.
Well this has proved to be a really disappointing buying experience. I still do not have my Nitro and they really have no idea when the parts will come in. Now it seems they have the same model and color I purchased and they do not want to trade me out for it. It is just a joke. They do not return my calls or seem to care. I have contacted Dodge so we will see what happens.
Sounds like you might of unfortunately chose a notsogood dealer...Id defintely contact Dodge relations immediately and not give in to anything thats not satisfactory - thats what you seem to have to do nowadays..
This worries me too, since my dodge dealership here stinks. (see the comments in the nitro vs. fj post)
Well, I talked to Dodge today and got absolutely nowhere. This is a joke. I bought this thing almost a week ago and I have only had it a few hours. We'll see what tomorrow brings.
enjoy the f-150 until your nitro is fixed. Next time you have an issue, go to another dealer. They have to honor the warrantee at other dealers.
Yeah, this dealer is a "five star" dealer - I don't even think they should get one star. I pretty much reflected that in the survey they sent. Now they are saying that it will be fixed tomorrow or they will give me a different Nitro - we'll see......

If they dont, contact DaimlerChrsler immediately and keep bugging them. You have certain rights and need to make them aware of this experience at the dealer..If they cant fix it they will have to offer a different Nitro or a total refund..
I talked to the dealership today. Supposedly they will either have my Nitro back to me tomorrow or they will replace it. The really irritating thing is that they have another one - same model & color at their other store and they don't want to swap me out. We'll see.

Well thats good..thats resaonble though the cant just swap it out for the first defect..You have to understand its a brand new hting ot them too and Im sure there will be many more first problems so the cant just geasily go and swamp it out..Im sure its a pain for them to do the swap too...Well good luck tomorrow and hopefull things will work out quickly :)
