First of all, I would like to say hi to everyone. I POSSIBLY could be a proud owner of a white RT next week but not for sure as of yet. Wanted to ask some advice first....the Nitro I am looking at lists for 31,170.00...what should I expect to pay for that vehicle? Also, I am trading a vehicle on the Nitro but would like to first of all know my best price on the truck before I start to negotiate the deal. No I am not a rookie when it comes to dealing on cars but it is always helpful when you know the "bottom line" on the new car you are trying to deal on. If anyone has advice I would surely appreciate it. Thanks in advance....Kent

It's hard to say if you are getting a good price or not WITHOUT knowing what the installed options are. You didn't tell us enough information to be able to do anything.

How old is the trade-in?
What make/mode/mileage/etc?

The vehicle I am looking at is a white RT with the following options: leather interior, preferred package 28L, premium sound system, power sunroof. I am trading an 07 Mazda Miata Grand Touring which has the #2 package with auto trans. My car only has 1500 miles on it and is in prestine shape. Hope that helps!! Kent

Well, there was a white RT optioned like what you are looking at on EBay a few weeks ago that was brand new. They had it on there at invoice minus 1/2 the kickback which ended up something like $26900 or somewhere around that.

There's an inferno red R/T with everything on it except Mygig in Willard, Ohio for $27k and change. It has 3,400 miles on it though. PM me if you want the dealer's number.

Well I drove the white RT today and it is a very nice vehicle. The only problem is the offer the dealer gave me stunk so looks as if no Nitro will be in my garage soon. First of all, they gave me next to nothing for my NEW Miata and very little off the Nitro. :shakehead: Just dont understand the american car dealers....they need to sell cars but give out terrible deals....doesnt make any sense to me. Anyhow, I will continue to look and one thing about it I am not impatient which does help. Thanks for all the info and advice by the way.

And one more thing to add insult to injury..I have bought many cars from these people so you would think that would mean something....apparently not. Maybe they will call back with another offer???? Who knows.

Sure I would be happy to give you the figures....the Nitro listed at 31,170.00 and they took off the rebate of 750.00 plus they gave me only 20,000 for my Miata which keep in mind is new with only 1500 miles on it and it is loaded with everything except power hardtop. He made it sound as if I was getting employee pricing on the Nitro which is bull. To be honest with you I still owe quite a bit on my Miata since I just bought it a few months ago so the offer for my car doesnt come close to what I need. Anyone know of a good dealer in Ohio who DEALS????? Your opinions are welcome.

Well seriously that Miata is a limited marketed car. You'd be better off selling it outright if you owe a lot on it. It's so hard to sell a car you just bought and come out OK. I've tried it before and it just doesn't work.

That red R/T I told you about. Well it stickered @ $33665 and he priced it to me for $27800 including tax/title. That was with out a trade though.

Yes I know what you mean the Miata is a special type of car and needs a special buyer. I did put it on ebay becuase I can see now that trading is out of the question....I cannot even get Dodge dealers to contact me after they find out I want to trade it on a Nitro...what goes there? Gotta say I am not very impressed with the local Dodge dealers...I am an interested customer and I cannot even get a reply out of most of them. Anyhow, thanks for the information...did you say that RT is in Williard at the local dealer? Maybe I will check that out but frankly would really like to by an 08....and frankly an RT or an SLT with the 20" rims would be nice.

Still working on the Nitro purchase. Have found an 07 RT in silver with cloth seats at a dealer approx. 150 miles from here. They are listing it for 24,995.00 and the retail on it is 30,115.00..so it doesnt look like too bad of a deal. The only hang up with the be the trade of my 07 Miata....have called them and will see what happens.????? Hopefully something good.

The dealer is called Schaffer-Danhoff. When you call, ask for Jeff and tell him that Steve from Automotive Options referred you. He's the main guy there so if you are going to get the best deal, it'll be from him. Here's a link to their ad off of cars.com

Thank you very much for your help...I will give him a shot although I believe I wrote them and they said the price was firm on that vehicle? Sorry to be so iffy here but I have written many dealers and everything runs together after a while...:D....but thanks I do appreciate it. Have you bought a Nitro? and did you go through them?

Well Kmag, I have that R/t from that dealer in Willard sitting in my driveway as I type this. He wanted me to have it for the weekend. I don't think I'll get it though. Here's my take on it.

Cons
1. Price, although it's almost $9k off the sticker it's considered used because it was titled to him. I could order exactly the Rt I want for about the price he's at now.
2. Since it's used, no lifetime warranty.
3. It's been sitting for many months. So long that it has spiderwebs everywhere on the inside and outside. The brakes took for ever to smooth out too.
4. Stone chips. I did a post on here asking owners about stone chips and many of the people on here stated they had none. I can't believe that because this car only has 3900 miles on it and it has a moderate amount of stone chips already.
5. The chrome on the rims is bad on 2 of them. I think it's from sitting so long in one place. It has something to do with the wheel weights.
6. I think the tranny acts funky but maybe it hasn't had the recall done on it?
7. It's really not the time for me to buy a new vehicle right now.
8. There's a wierd noise like a bad belt or pulley under the hood. Not sure if it's normal or not.

Pros

1. It's a Nitro baby and a loaded Rt at that.
2. It's fun to drive.
3. I'd love to have a new car right now.
4. He's willing to deal more on it especially through my business. (I do aftermarket stuff for dealerships)
