Hi Guys,Okay, (2007 Nitro) none of the power door locks work. Fob unlock function doesn`t work either. Then I checked the fuse, blown hmmmm. As I was replacing the fuse, I noticed arcing as I attempted to install it. Quickly removed it! Fuse was hot! Disconnected battery and reconnected about 10 minutes later in hopes that the computer would reset and correct itself. No go. Checked other forum topics, nothing of any help there. I`m concerned about the arcing and associated heat! Anything to be done? Dealer( UGH!)?
Thanks for any and all help.:confused::confused: Barry P.

The circuits have an overdraw safety feature which would kill the power if the lock switch was stuck.
Check relay K6, it should click when using the key-fob or lock switch.
Diagram can be found here.

Thank you. I learned something today. Should have thought about the safety issue. I can't give you any rep yet, but you deserve all that you get.

I went out an played with my locks.
I did about 4 rapid unlock/lock sequences and then I held the lock switch down. Then the locks would not work at all for about 30 seconds. When they stopped working the relay also did not click. So the TIPM had killed the power to them, as it should.
If the fuse is blown and arcs when replaced, I would assume there is another issue within the TIPM.

But if you would like to run a test, pull out the drivers control panel and disconnect the wires & test the fuse.
Do this with each door and leave the ones you have already unplugged out.
If the arcing at the fuse stops and relay now work, more then likely it is a switch to blame and not related to the TIPM.

Also the locks if malfunctioning, will set a DTC in the system. Door lock errors start with B18, B19,or B1A.

This was in a PM to me from rickaroo. I have posted it here so everyone can hopefully benefit from our conversation.
Please everyone, post specific problems and questions on the forum, that is what it is for.

I have same problem with locks being inoperative. Blew the new fuse right now. Car at dealers. They have eliminated the latches for the doors. Now they want to pull seats to look for short.
Here are a couple other threads about this. http://www.nitroforumz.com/showthread.php?t=35420 and another http://www.nitroforumz.com/showthread.php?t=37332.
I think they are wasting their and your time trying to find a short. I believe it is a TIPM issue, as was the case in most of the door lock/ blown fuse issues.

Got my 07 Nitro back after dealer decided we (Nitro Fourm) was correct in the conclusion that the TIPM was defective. This is an expensive item, 900$ The dealer picked up the tab for me on this one. I did pay labor but escaped the TIPM cost. I think my TIPM had problems from the start because whenever I took the car to the dealer the hand held computer plugged in by them said "VIN" didn't match. I also reminded them they had programmed the TIPM on another servise call. Now an unusal note, my clock now keeps perfect time where before it seemed to loose a couple of minutes a week. Well back to enjoying my NITRO.

This is odd. My clock looses time every week, by a few minutes! Initially, new from the factory, it came with a Media Center 130, single disc. It would lose time from when I purchased it. Last fall, I upgrade to a Media Center 230 - 6 disc. Same thing - a couple of minutes a week. Now, last month, I swapped out to a Media Center 430, RBZ mygig, non-nav, and it is doing the same thing. Obviously, the radio does not control the time - is it the TIPM? And if so, what does it take to fix this issue?

dido! I recently moved and used my nitro. Paranoid as I am I just made it a nightmare. And it’s embarrassing having to crawl across the car to unlock the doors. I’m guessing it’s the TIPM. I found a company that lets you rent one for 30 days to figure out if it is actually your TIPM. The company is called MAKS TIPM REBUILDERS.

if Fuse M38 is blown and keeps blowing when replaced then most likely your TIPM has a short circuit and needs replacing, it happened to me many years ago when i first bought my Nitro,
