So I came across this problem not too long ago. When I lock the car, all locks go down and lock and car honks just like it should. However, whenever I push the key fob to unlock, only the driver side door unlocks and the remaining 3 passenger doors and rear hatch stay locked, refusing to unlock no matter how many times I push the fob. This also happens when I sit in the Nitro and try unlocking it by pushing the unlock switch on the door panel.

When it first happened, it was only for the afternoon and before I could take a look at it the next day, it had gone back to functional. Seemed like a electrical hiccup. However, this time, it has happened again and has been 2 days since it happened.

Has anyone ever had this problem?! It's a 2007 Dodge Nitro with 90k miles.

ALSO - I have tried pulling relays and checked all fuses and all of the relays are fine and so are the fuses. I tried resetting the electrical system by disconnecting the battery and connecting it several minutes later. Everything else works just fine, windows, radio, wipers, etc.

It's just the power door locks.....

The locks are controlled threw the drivers door switch.
Have you tried using the unlock button on the passenger front door? If it does not work then my guess would be it has to do with the drivers controls.
If it does work then try disconnecting the Neg (-) battery cable for 10 minutes. This will reset the system...

I have a 2009 Nitro and last week the drivers door would not open (uk right hand drive) so no key operation. The central locking is all working and the button goes up & down but will not release the door catch. I have tried disconnecting the battery for 10 mins but no joy. Next step is to remove the door panel but with the door shut I think it will be a challenge. Any other ideas from members before I start?

This is a great site with some fantastic feed back for members.

Regards
John

Welcome to the forum. I'm not sure if you can get the panel off without the door being open, but these are the steps;
1. screw behind round cover - lower rear of panel.
2. screw under round panel inside door handle.
3. pry off the circle trim around the door handle - bolt behind there.
4. pry up door/lock switch - disconnect harness.
5. with fingers inside the hole where the switch was, and other hand on bottom of the panel, pull the panel straight up - not out! There are plastic hooks molded into the back of the panel to hold it on. Then, you will have to release the door lock rod Good luck.

I assume you have manually pulled up on the knob and it still will not release.
Make sure the door is completely closed, even try having someone push on the outside of the door while you are releasing the door with the handle. It is possible the catch is bound up. I'm not sure of the weather in your area, is it possible it is frozen?
Then short of removing the panel, I wouldn't know where to go from here.

Thanks for your help, I've tried all the above suggestions.
Button goes up and down when using the the key fob as do all the others.
Same when I use the driver controles.
Started taking the door panel off, not easy when door closed but managed it.
Problem now is removing the inner panel because the window guider is fixed some how to the rear of the panel from the inside!!?? Any other ideas anyone??

Who's question are you guys trying to answer? The opening OP or jdplasterers?

Jdplasterers has his own thread here and the OP may be confused as to who you all are talking to?
Good morning. I was answering jdplasterers question. The OP was back in April, 2011, and he never answered back as to the outcome of his issue. I will follow jdplasterers on his own thread. I apologize for the confusion.

If you push the unlock button more than once, do all doors unlock?
Not sure where you got that part #. It is not listed in any of the Nitro parts manuals.

I can tell you the Pin out positions, That is all I have.
The part # seems to be an older one. Was it replaced?
Can you post a picture for me to see the part. The manual is hard to tell which part it is.
Is this connected to the bottom of the switch?

Is your a right hand drive or left hand drive?

Part is not replaced before - even i am not sure because i am not first owner, but compare with the one on driver side - it is same dates except that module have different part no and it have mark L.
Concerning the side of drive i drive same as you do - means on same side as is driven in US i am not "opposite" :)
Please see picture of module with lot of empty slots, try to search for meaning of the slots - no success - it says "OEM" , are some other type of car use same system for window, door lock, mirror adjustment?

I do not know what the other ports are for. It could be this, or the drivers door switch, or the TIPM, or the WCM, or programming.
Only way to be sure is to have a diagnosis done.
