Alright, after a long battle with my dealer he agreed to pay for at least a part of my audio system, so he sent me to their official ausio guy. He told me it was impossible to change anything on the system (6 disc changer radio) because of the electronic something on the nitro. I think the dealer called him and told him to make it up so they wouldnt have to pay!! Because i know that a lot of you guys changed the headunit and speakers. So are those guys right, or are they making a fool out of me? Im so mad, Im going to pay for the whole system myself. What should I get? This is what i thought:
New kickers & tweeters for the front and new kickers fot the back connected to a 4(?) channel 400W amplifyer. A subwoofer plus amplifyer in the back 600W. Do I have to change the headunit or can I use the stock radio? Thanks for the help

Hey Duke!

Sorry to hear you are having trouble.

We swapped out our front door speakers with no big deal. I am sure that is not what you are looking for but I am sure someone here will have the answers for you.

Best of luck!

Everything can be replaced. In fact most aftermarket systems can even be made to work with your steering wheel controls as well. The adapters are expensive and there is no way around them. PAC is the leader in making these adapters. They will allow you to install an aftermarket system without cutting any of the original wires in the car.

I think a better explanation is in order however. Why should the dealer be responsible for the cost of you replacing the stereo with non Dodge equipment? It does not sound right to me.

Duke,

I have 2 kicker L7 solobarics with a MA Audio 1200w amp in my Nitro and I use the stock head unit. I dont have the 6 disc cd changer though. but they make the RCA cable adapters for about 20-30 dollars depending on what brand you go with. And if you take the stuff to a audio dealer for installation they should have everything you need as far as any other adapters. I suggest buying the speakers and amps elsewhere though because they are way more pricey. but thats my opinion.

Its because I ordered my nitro when the infinity system was still stock. They have their rights reserved to change anything, that is not optoinal. But when I was getting it I asked him if it had that system for sure, so I didnt have to get the mygig option which was 2000 dollars more. So it was in my contract that it should come with the speaker system and it didnt.

So what this sounds like to me is. You thought you paid for the Infinity stereo upgrade(speakers/amp/sub) and you got in reality the Dodge stock stereo(speakers/no sub).Am I correct so far. In my opinion the Dealer should credit you the difference of the upgrade. Not send you to an Audio shop.

Right, in this case I would tell them to get you the upgraded system or give you the value of the stereo so that you can get what you want.

I see your location is Italy. Are we talking about a car that is back here in the states or there? I do know that the cars we export are sometimes shorted some things before shipment in order to make delivery dates. If it is here, I would say you got ripped and I would ask for a refund of the stereo system entirely. I believe the base stereo was a $500 option but the radio delete was an $80 option. So depending what you paid, they would/should owe you at least $480.
