Ok, so I'm going to get a aftermarket exaust at some point. Here is the question, what would you recommend that doesnt have a huge booming sound comming out. I've used Injen before for my car (don't know if they make for nitros yet) and the sound was so overpowering you couldnt hear anything inside the car. Any suggestions would help. I just want a bigger piping without the huge header that allows the waist to pass through easier (mainly for fuel economy) that isn't a pos lol. Please help!

Thank you!

Hiya ..........

There's been quite a bit of discussion on both cat back systems and muffler replacements.

After seeing the discussions on the Flowmaster mufflers, I'm looking at a Flowmaster 70 as one of my mods ... sounds like it'll give some nice tone without being overpowering.

Do a search on the forum for "cat back" and/or "flowmaster" and see what you come up with.

I myself enjoy the power of my car, especially with some cheap exhaust mods that I've done. This being said, I've got a little bit of a lead foot and MPG is not on my side. But what I can tell you is that if you replace only the muffler, you could expect to get an additional 1-2 mpg. If you do a full cat back, and you're really lucky, maybe anywhere from 1-4 mpg. If you're dead-set against the rumbling noise, I would suggest just a muffler switch because the difference is minimal. Any full exhaust is going to make the car noticeably louder. As far as mufflers go.....the flowmaster 50 or 70 aren't TOO loud and increase fuel efficiency. Magnaflows are always good, but 9 out of 10 that I've heard are louder than flowmasters. You could look into aeroturbines. They increase the mpg without, again, TOO much noise. Whatever you do, keep the resonator on and possibly buy a new resonated tip.
