Not sure which sub-forum to post this in so I'll post here and y'all can correct me as needed. Where I work, even if it's only a light rain, there's a lot of standing water. With 7 sets of RR tracks and all this water and add the 20" rims/tires I get dirt/mud all the way up to the door handles. I'm wondering if anyone has put mudflaps on their Nitro and if so which kind? Do you like the look? More importantly do they work?!! Thank You for any help you may give:D

I have the one's specifically for the Nitro (Mopar), front and rear. About $63.00 plus shipping on ebay. I like the look, but not sure they do any better at keeping dirt off the side of the vehicle. Only had them for about 3 weeks.

Bbob,

I had the same problem with mine. I ordered some online but they looked terrible when I got them so I sent them back. I ended up getting the Mopar ones from my dealer that were made for the Nitro. They fit really well and look great. If you didn't know they had been put on, you would just think they are part of the original car.

Here is a picture (not a great one) but I think you can see what I mean. I bought both the front and rear. They really help a lot. Still get some stuff but nothing like before and I can at least use the door handles without having to clean them off first!!!

My thanks to all. Looks like I'll have to stop by the dealer and see what they have. I see on EBay there's two different types. One's molded and the other is flat. I'm guessing that the molded is what I want.

I've had the Mopar flaps since day 1 so I can't really comment on whether or not they are an improvement. I too got dirt on the sides. But I do know that I don't have the stone chips on the fenders that some complain about, I think they are really effective against that. And they have gathered quite a bit of tar and crap on them (I need some GooGone) that probably would have ended up on the paint. I installed the running boards about two weeks ago and have noticed a huge difference in the dirt on the doors, a nice added bonus. I don't yet know how it will be when snow collects on top of them though, it might be a pain.

The first one's I ordered were the flat and they don't fit well or look good. After sending them back, I ordered the molded and that is what was in the picture.

I put both front and rear and have been very happy with them.

There is a little snow build on the running boards. I personally am not bothered by it. The price of living in a northern climate I suppose. I think that the benefit of these boards outweigh the negative.

I have th front/rear molded flaps too ottawa and I have to agree they do a fantastic job(espescially with the boards on).

Painting Molded Flaps

How it the paint holding up on the painted ones? Chipping any? I wanted my painted, but the dealer was quoting way too much to do it.
:wavey:
G'Day!
Bought them from dealer who covered the outsourced paint job with a "MOPAR" coupon!
Installed them in March and they are holding up great!:D
They catch a lot of the road tar too!:999:
Of course you must be aware that clearance to the ground has decreased with driving up to curbs.:thk:
They are not welded on, nor are they metal, so any twisting or bending can damage them or the paint.:(
Us girls would compare it to trying to do house work with a brand new french manicure!:Na_Na_Na_Na:
