My wife and I are looking at buying a R/T Nitro and wanted to know if there have been any problems with the transmission or engine? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

No problems on my R/T to speak of....

I believe the problems are in the SXT, and SLT models the R/T's tranny is similiar to a series Chrysler has had no issues with.

Go with the R/T you'll never want to leave it in Park.

Not true. At 6500 miles our R/T started exhibiting transmission problems -- very hard shifts, hunting, lagging... Ours was built January 2007, I believe. Have to wait until the wife gets home to double-check.

Nitro R/T with a build date of January 07. Not a problem..... 9000 miles.

I purchased my Nitro R/T February 5. It was manufactured in January, 2007. I have had no problems whatever and highly recommend that you purchase one!
