R/T Orders To Canada Cancelled!!!

I just heard today from my fleet manager that all 400 R/T orders to Canada have now been cancelled!!!!

I had ordered mine on Jan. 09th and I asked him to do another check on my order yesterday and he was told to look for something else for all his customers that had ordered R/T's because none of them would be coming to Canada.

I can't believe this....now he is trying to find me an SLT but I really wanted the 4.0L....and I need the 5000lbs towing capacity...and that was basically the only vehicle that could do that and still fall under my cost limit....

Man, I'm disapointed....

Check again.

I think the SXT with the 6speed, and maybe even the SLT with an automatic can tow 5,000 pounds with the tow package and an equalizing hitch.

I wonder if the 3,500 Pound towing limit is because the 6speed only comes with a 3.21 gear?

My 6speed has the tow package that should have everything but the trans cooler.

Good thing my speed boat is light.

I think your information is incorrect

Ken,

I recently put a deposite on a black Nitro R/T that was in a Toronto area dealer. The car was delivered to the dealer April 26th, so it seems to me that your dealer was incorrect. Although I am not sure when the T.O. dealer ordered the R/T, maybe that has something to do with it.

Just sharing information, draw your own conclusions.

gah... the frustration starts

Spoke with my local dealer today. The Dodge website shows a Black R/T with mygig at a dealer in the Toronto area which I was trying to buy through my local dealer. My local dealer states that it was brought in on order for another customer, even though when I spoke with the T.O. dealer he never mentioned any of this, only that the RT was on the show room floor. I have suspisions that smoke is being blown up one of my orafaces...

After spending most of the afternoon doing inventory searches on the dodge website, the closest other Black RT with mygig is in alberta :shakehead: ...

I have a feeling my frustration has only begun...

Sheesh! You'd think we were dealing with some rare exotic sports car the way things keep turning out. How can a simple new vehicle be such a hassle to get? It's a dodge 'truck' not some Ferrari Enzo! If I didn't like the Nitro RT so much I would have moved on to another vehicle long ago...I hope this rumour isn't true. I've waited over 4 months so far and I'd hate to find out the wait was for nothing. UGH!

I know, I keep telling myself the same thing...Why did they bother with all the marketing if they thought no one would buy it!!! I just checked with my guy again yesterday and it looks like it's true, for me anyway...he is looking at getting me a fully loaded SLT but it still won't give me the 4.0L that I was so looking forward to. I hope that in the end he was wrong and others, like you, end up getting their R/T's...

Just received my Nitro RT in black from Toronto, waited 4 months for it.
I felt the same frustration, why is it taking so long? Why cant the dealer just give me an approximate date. Honestly, I think he didnt even know

Nitro SLT with trailer towing package

I was looking for an RT but couldn't wait so I bought a fully loaded SLT with a trailer towing package. I tow a 4200LB trailer and have had no problem at all pulling the trailer. A couple of things to note: I used to pull with a Jeep Grand Cherokee and the set-up is the same. I have a weight distribution hitch but I noticed with the Nitro that there was some slight sway when pulling. Just enough to be annoying. An anti-sway bar will correct the problem although I didn't have that problem with the Jeep. Also when i'm climbing hills, in the jeep I used to down shift and the revs would stay roughly the same. With the Nitro I can't do this anymore. When it downshifts by itself it revs pretty high and when I downshift the same thing happens but I have had no problems. There is a trailer tow button on the tranny but it makes very litte difference. It's just a matter finding what's comfortable.

man you dont know how lucky you are the nitro is a complete disaster, i have 1600oks on mine, no end of trouble, try another make . cliff in surrey

do not be disapointed, i have 22000ks on my nitro and they are full of problems which chrysler and the dealers ignore, dealer in p.springs tells me they hate to sell them as they do nothing but create headacks.

Sorry to hear about your order.Unlike Mr Tate my Nitro is fine.Had a few things replaced and fixed but truck is running great.1st year truck,there will be some trouble but my dealer fixes everything and told me no more trouble with the Nitro then any other car or truck they sell.Mr Tate is just very unhappy with his Dodge.I have owned 4 Dodge trucks and this one is the best one yet.
