how does the HU get a signal that the shift lever is in park? Is there a way to "fool" it into thinking it is in park all the time?

My passenger (girlfriend) likes to watch movies on long trips.

Nope it is all done through the internal Dodge network system called the Can-Bus... as of now there is no way to disable the parking brake feature except for a nice product one of our supporting vendors provides.

Just a note to the Plug and Play...Not Always!!

If you have a dealer added U-Connect and then add MyGig, it is not plug and play. The adapter that is holding up Mygig after sale orders is not available and the dealers can't hook up the 2 units. This only applies to people like me who have the remote microphone instead of the mirror mic. If anyone has figured out a work around by splicing into the wires, I would love to hear it, before I try it this weekend.
Thanks!!

I would trust the image, it looks like a scan, whereas the typed out part may just be a typo. So go with 6 and 7, with 6 being signal. I read 2 other posts, and one of them the person used 5 and 6, the other one used 6 and 7. If 6 is the signal, then both of them COULD work, and one of them may be using "floating ground" (ie common not connected). That would still work, although it might be a bit noisy (poorer video quality).

Attachment wont work for me

Ok fellas I took the liberty of combining the info above into a PDF so you can print it out easily and use at your leisure. I hope this helps anyone out who wants to print it to use while in the vehicle doing some wiring. Thanks to NT and BCH for the original info...

Hello, I have tried to open this attachment but I keep getting an error message. Has anybody else been able to open the attachment?

Go down a few posts and print out the pdf. I took a yellow rca cable, cut off one end took some computer motherboard pin cables and soldered the cut end of the rca cable to that and connected the pin ends onto the pins in the back of the head unit on the C3 socket. Video common is the ground on the rca, and video signal is the center cable on the rca. The finished end of the rca routes nicely down the right side of the console riser. Put a dvd in the slot 6 of the cd changer and video came out automagically. I wired up the video 2 the same way but got no output, it must be selectable from the menu on the head unit.
Or maybe because video 2 is the video input some of us are looking for? a member of this forum in the thread "Mygig video input" confirmed video signal sent by the rear VES can also be displayed on the Mygig screen!

Here's the complete radio connector pinouts with drawings to identify each connector. Once I've got pics of the back of the radio I add those also.
If anyone has requests for specific connector pinouts or component locations within yor Nitro just ask.
Hello,

is it possible to identify for me this pins will be required to attached an amp for a SUb? cheers!

Excellent, thanks! This is the connector number for the C1 at the radio, 5135638AA. I had just found all these via the vftis site.

I also thought this might be of interest:

http://www.lxforums.com/board/showthread.php?t=22586&page=1&pp=10

This guy got it working on his LX.

I've been LMAO at a post from that site talking about the NAV voices and how he wanted the Foghorn Leghorn voice. That would be a riot!

I went to Dodge today and looked at the 08 models with factory Uconnect. The mirror has the cover over the plugs, so it was hard to tell. The dealership here is closed on Sunday's so now way to get inside and look.

Still on the hunt, and WILL get this to work.

Tore apart the rear interior and behind the sub is NO connector. This means I now can make my own. So now I wonder if I even have the C1 connector at all?? If so, it must not be wired. I'll find that out when I replace the REQ with the REN.

Time to build my own harness and mount the HFM where I want it, which is behind the glove box. Purchase the factory Nitro parts per my other post in the MyGig forum and wire it all together.

Or, I can complain really loud that my Nitro was sold with the intention that it had the factory Uconnect (ha-ha). All that would get me is a Mopar unit with the press on buttons.

The fun begins!

Update to previous post. Installed the REN tonight and the C1 connector is there and fully wired. Now the BIG question is where do the wires go. When I had the rear interior torn apart I could not see the 22-pin connector but I did not remove the sub either. Nor did I see the connector for the rear view mirror in the headliner.

Time to hunt down this thing before I go crazy. If I have to take the vehicle apart I will. Going to wait for a free weekend and tear it down.

Hoping to get the Kickers delivered and installed this week and see how the system sounds. I don't expect a concert hall, but at least a little more than the Infinity's.

If I remember right from when I tore things apart a year ago, the C1 wiring behind the radio does not go far, only to C202 in the driver's side foot well. The wiring harness that runs between C202 and C313 on the rear quarter panel does not contain the wires to support the hands free module, and the harness that connects the module to C313 does not contain the wires or the connector to the module.
