New one I found out about it at my last service on Dec. 31, 2008
It is Technically not a "TSB", but a "Rapid Response". I'm not sure exactly what the difference is. But if I had to guess, I would say it is related to a non-safety defect.
But hey I'm just guessing. NT can edumacate me I'm sure. :))

I agree Scar0 ''Rapid Response'' not for safety, but if mine were rusting after 6 months what are some like after 2 years???? If they rotted right through the roof panel that would be a major expense to fix, and as we all know they don't have any money to start with.

While at the dealer, I got the impression as they service vehicles, they are to do this or schedule to do this as well. But, yet again, I'm just going by what was said at the time.

Thanks Scar I may give my dealer a call just to make sure they know about it. I checked my rails today, and it looks like only the back stud on each side has some rust, but looks minimal. Going to get this checked as soon as possible.

well I was to the dealership in south edmonton, alberta today and this was the second time I have been there for the roof rails lifting in the past month and I even booked the appointment last week to insure they had the parts to fix the roof rails lifting and the still have not fixed the problem.
The Left rail lifts up 8 to 10 inches at the front and goes back about half way down the length of the vehicle. The right Rail only lifts about 2 inches at the front and only goes back about 2 feet down the length of the vehicle.
They even gave me the part numbers:
Left side 1JQ43RXFAB
Right side 1JQ42RXFAB
So my advice is to make sure you get the parts in your hands before you book anything that may require parts.

I learned of this "rapid response" when I went in to have my roof rails looked at because of the lifting and cracking at the first two bolts. The dealer told me that they would have to replace everything due to this. Now three weeks later I have new rails and hardware. The new ones seem to be installed the same as the old ones. Hope these stay down!

New plastick no rails?

Hi Nitro tech.
Just had rails replaced.
Now the tracks to which the roof rack cross members used to mount are not there.
Dealer is checking.
The old rails do not fit, bolts too short.
Have you run into this before?

I have not heard of this. When mine were replaced everything fit just fine. Did they get the wrong ones. There are 2 different part #s. 1 with the tracks, 1 without.
