roof rails

I am hoping it is just a matter of ordering the right part.
The part mentioned on the TSB is definately not the right one.
Will call dealer this morning and check.

Had the wifes truck in for wheel swap. While it was there they replaced roof rails and did the stud work. They also found a ticking noise in the engine, talked to the guys at chrysler and they said the intake was leaking will have to be replaced. just waiting for parts.

Roof rails and cross bars

Ok here is what happened.
The TBS does not show the roof rails, only the moldings!
On the '08 Nitro, Dodge dropped the actual metal rail as standard equipment.
When you order the Mopar rook rack for an '08, it is now a 4 piece kit
Rails and Cross rails (the roof rack).
Unlike the '07 which is just the cross rails as the other part came standard.
PLUS the instructions shoe how to mount the moldings with or without rails.
So Blue ram is going in tomorrow to reinstall my original Rails that were there before changing the Moldings.
(By Moldings I mean the plastic part of the roof rail)

I hope this makes sense

I was informed about this Rapid Response last week and brought my 2007 Nitro in this morning to have the repair done. They told me the repair would take two to three days. Am I getting snowed here??? Looks like from reading the letter it is maybe a four hour job.

It took them about 6 hours to do mine including the 1500 mile service.
If they have all the required parts in stock, I don't see why it would take 3 days.

I was at the dealer yesterday for my wiper recall. They had on the receipt that they removed my roof racks, inspected the mounting studs, verified okay - I assume this is why.
You got it!

First post question. 2007 R/T originally with rack rails installed.

There are four square holes in the metal rails. From the factory there were metal pad eyes (for you sailors) that came up through the holes and provided attachment points where something could be secured to the roof rack.

When the dealer got done with the rapid response work the instructions only discuss replacing the rails so the tie down points were lost.

Has anyone else had this problem?
Is there a document I can show the dealer describing the tie-down points?
Does anyone have a photo they can post or send me showing the tie down points?

Many thanks.

We have water leaking on the passenger side in a 2007 Nitro we bought recently. Floor mats get soaked. I looked up recalls and everything has been done. Since we're way out of warranty, does anyone know if they will still cover this kind of repair or should I look into doing it myself?
