Has anyone heard or have a rattle in the passenger side rear door when have the music turn on around lvl 20? I check the source of the rattle, took off the door panel and find out that its actually in the panel itself. Not in the door with the window. Has anyone got this fixed?

I put some thick foam stuff in the panel, the rattle went away then came back. It just doesnt want to go away...

I've got it in the exact same door as you. I'm taking it in next week and this TSB is on my list of things for them to do.

Had it and more....

I have the rattle in the door (among other places) and the TSB did not resolve. Finally found it was the door-lock rod was rattling around. I was able to secure this with a little foam padding but after a few months, a new rattle appeared that I have not been able to find. Appears as though it is coming from either the front passenger door, or inside the console. Dealer can't find it...

So far I have two rattlers, one of them is the damn door, the other is on the black roof rail thing. Very annoying and needs a fixin.. I ll mention the door lock thing to the dealer and see if that is really it. But when I did my test I didnt hear the rattler with the door panel off. When it is back on, it started again...

I had a rattle in the driver's side door. the lock button rod was vibrating. There is a clip that guides the rod that must have been broken during assembly. Dealer ordered new plastic guide component and repaired. The problem is you hear the noise but it is sometimes hard to replicate when you get to the dealership. They usually look for the quick and easy fix.

Not in the door...

an update to my earlier post. Whatever the rattle is is not in the door. I've had the door panel off and it still rattles. The lock button rod was vibrating on mine as well, but that was eliminated with some foam. The sound seems to be coming from either the door or the dash, but so far no luck. I've removed the panels from all the doors, off the trunk, removed the center console cover over the stereo and a/c, as much of the panels on top of the dash, the glove box and I can't find where this rattle is coming from. It's not the roof rails as those have already been fixed. Whateve it is also only happens when you get the right vibration from the grooves in the road. Hitting speed bumbs doesn't do it, and driving on certain roads doesn't reproduce it. Two dealerships have been unable to find the rattle, both conviently couldn't hear it.

So either there's something weird going on, or I'm crazy. I'm getting tempted as each day passes to just trade the thing in, no matter what my loss is.

rattle

we also had a rattle in the passenger side front door. The lock was vibrating within its hole and making a noise. I found that the top part of the door panel was loose, allowing the lock to bang against it. The dealer performed the door insulation TSB, and at the same time adjusted the fit at the top of the door panel - and no more rattles!!!

Caused by the heat?

OK, maybe the rattle is in the door, or in the front passenger-side of the dash, not sure. Something I have noticed the past few days is that it seems to be affected by heat. In the mornings on my way to work, I barely hear it anymore, if at all. My vehicle sits in a garage all night and is kept fairly cool. But during the day, at work, it sits out in the sun. The past week or so it's not been uncommon to get in at the end of the day and have the outside temp. read over 100 (121 one day last week). On the drive hom, on the same streets that I don't hear anything in the morning, I hear it the entire time. Could the heat be causing something to expand, thus causing the rattle?

Oh, and when I said it wasn't in the door after removing the panel, that was only after removing the outer plastic panel. I have not been able to figure out how to remove the inner panle entirely as part of it seems attached somewhere inside that I can't get to. Anyone know how to completly remove that panel, including the window and motor and all so I have just a hollow door frame?
