Hello all,
I live in Somerset UK and received a letter to say there needs to be a recall for my dodge nitro 2008 to check the airbag safety. However, it says the nearest place is Essex? There's anybody else know if anywhere closer to me!?
There are lots of people on forums in the UK ignoring the recall or saying that dealerships are refusing the recall work. This is the FCA US recall instruction PDF listing a part number for replacement. If you call Dodge Europe they will send a request to a JEEP UK dealership to do the work for you. JEEP UK were very reluctant at first but now it's all good and I'm booked in for February.

I don't know if it's different for other countries, but in America it looks like if all of your emblem retaining clips are still on the back of your air bag cover, they just put tape over them. This appears to be a revision to the recall: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2020/RCRIT-20V396-2145.pdf
Thanks that's good to know, either way it looks like they will sort it. I have two part numbers, the dealership have another..so nobody really knows what's in the box until I take my Dodge in.

looked it up in the workshop manual, i see now how the airbag comes away from the steering wheel, pretty easy, at least i can remove the badge myself and maybe replace it with a silicone one,
I'm going to ask if its just a removal, if it is I'll ask for the old badge then make a cast for a silicone replacement. Great idea Nitrogen thanks.

Recall repair was done by Jeep at the beginning of February. They took old airbag out (maybe one of the dodgy ones) and replaced it with a new one. They reinforced the retaining clips on badge logo somehow it seems... They were a bit vague about it, but it's registered as safe on their database so all good.
