Hello all,
I live in Somerset UK and received a letter to say there needs to be a recall for my dodge nitro 2008 to check the airbag safety. However, it says the nearest place is Essex? There's anybody else know if anywhere closer to me!?

it doesn't come loose,
it's because if you have a accidents and the steering wheel air bag is deployed the dodge rams head could become a projectile, and apparently get imprinted into the drivers or a passengers head, arm or ass, although nobody here on the forum has had it happen to them,
we have 4 cars at our house and 3 of them have plastic emblems in the center of the steering wheel, what they going to do recall 75% of all cars on the road,
Says it will effect insurance if crash or someone gets hurt and not to ignore a recall 🤷‍♂️

There are lots of people on forums in the UK ignoring the recall or saying that dealerships are refusing the recall work. This is the FCA US recall instruction PDF listing a part number for replacement. If you call Dodge Europe they will send a request to a JEEP UK dealership to do the work for you. JEEP UK were very reluctant at first but now it's all good and I'm booked in for February. View attachment 40819
Cheers much appreciated! Do you know phone number or email !?

i see what you mean now, the clips come loose, then if the airbag goes off, Boom Rams head becomes a projectile or maybe worse the clips go flying around the cabin,
it now makes me want to have it fixed, don't want my kids having something like that happen,
But where to go to have it done? I'm miles from the two places available of Oxford and Essex

they don't care about that, they have forfilled the requirements of the recall notice by offering a solution,
i remember a few owners saying they went to the dodge dealer for this recall, instead of going through the lengthy proceedure of removing the steering wheel, the garage simply pulled the badge from the steering wheel (making thing more dangerous), then said we will be in touch when we have the parts to complete the recall notice, so now there are many Nitros driving around with the clips sat loose in the steering wheel, just waiting for the airbag to be deployed.
I'm feel safe with mine then !!!
