Well I have an appointment next Tuesday to get the Mopar remote start put in. I have looked at other alarms; my best friend even works at a stereo shop that does the one mile rang ones. But I just don’t seem to like them I know it would be cool to have the two-way remote but I like just carrying one key. My dad is a locksmith and I have a bio reader on my house so no key need there and at work we have passkeys and I have that in my wallet. I just don’t want a dongle. I thank I am getting it for $213.00 + $218.00 install fee which is dumb because it is plug and play. It will take them longer to program the new keys in then to install it. But it will be covered on my 3/36. I will let you guy/gals know how it goes.

I was browsing the web last night and found the install manual for the remote start that is getting put in tomorrow. Know I can look over their work and make shore they don’t do crappy work. I also printed out a copy of it and I am going to leave it in the front seat for them kind of hoping they see it and know that I know what all there doing and maybe they will treat me right. I have been screwed around in the past with dealers and I am not going to let it happen again.

So I get there this morning at 7:30AM, pull in and the guy comes to my door. I tell him I have an appointment and my name he look and says he does not see me on the appointment list he ask when I made my appointment, I tell him I didn’t my salesman made it for me he is the one I have been dealing with he ask what it was there for I tell him I am getting the Mopar remote start put in. he say well we will just have to talk to the salesman then, I was like ok, then I ask him about the install, who was going to do it,,I had talk to the salesman and he said all Mopar remote starts are installed at the dealer, I am ok with that I was asking because I had heard that they take them to the place accurse the street and if that’s the case I have seen their work and I will do it myself. He says he knows nothing about it. So I leave that car, know I am at work and I celled that salesman won’t be in till 11:00AM today. Ya my Nitro is going to set their till at least 1:00PM. The install time is 3 hours. So what I am getting at is thank the salesman lied the service department didn’t know about it because they’re going to take the thing across the street and have the jack A$$es install it.

Well after 3:00PM it all came together. It only took the guy 45 minutes to install the hood switch, the new transponder/remote brain and run the new antenna. I also took the guy both of my old keys and he programmed all the keys into the Nitro. He said this was the easiest Mopar remote start they have done. I had my dad cut the keys so they took off the 31 dollar key cutting fee”he is a locksmith”. And so far everything works great. Only bad thing is I seen my old Sonoma that they told me they were taking to action because they could not sale an 03 on their lot, out on their lot and it had $9,000 on it they only gave me $5,000 for it… I Hate dealers!! So it seems to work great I will try the distance out tomorrow in the work parking lot.

I think dealers make more money on selling used cars than they do on new cars! No wonder they can't sell it, they jack up the cost by almost double what it's worth!

KBB.com it is worth third party sale only $6,700 I got kbb trade-in that was $5,095 out of them. and they can’t get the check engine light to go off I could call them and tell them how to fix it but I’ am not, all they have to do is get a new o-ring on the gas cap so the pressure sensor reads right and then it will go off till the o-ring gets gas on it and it starts to leek air again

Its also not totally uncommon for Dealers not to install the remote starts. Remote starts require pretty tedious work and every vehicle is different. Their technicians usually don't have the all around vehicle knowledge since they dont install remote starts that often (they try to sell the vehicle with it factory equipped). I install all the remote starts at the local audio shop and we are contracted directly thru ford to do all their remote starts. Customers brings them to ford, ford brings them to us, and we deliver them back to ford, all the while the customer not knowing. The Mopar remote starts are very easy to install. Cost them an arm and a leg to have installed since basically they are paying two people to work on the vehicle (dealers make money on it too). Personally dont think any factory remote starts are as reliable as a good aftermarket. Glad to hear everything turned out ok for you though.

I really want to write out a reply to what you post because I VERY much disagree on everything you said there but I am just not in the mood for it.
