I got my windows tinted and I dont like the film brand they used (should have gone with (Lumar) , but another place will charge $10 a window to remove the tint before replacing it. How hard is it to remove tint? And how do you do it? Any tips? Thanks

Pull the film off by starting at a corner.......it will leave the glue stuff on the window. Now wet the glue stuff with soapy water...(dish detergent and warm water works fine)...and use the razorblade to scrape the glue off. If there is a rear window defroster that comes into play, leave that one for them to do, otherwise, it really isn't that bad! Oh, and by the way, Llumar is about the best tint out there right now so you can't go wrong with the switch!

Mix dish soap with water in a spray bottle, spray the tint with this solution then let it soak for 15min and keep it wet, then work at one corner and pull tint off. I don't know the brand this tint was but it was very durable and thick, was on the car for almost a summer, It was on a mustang completely tinted all windows sunroof and windshield shade, and I was always getting hassled from the RCMP in my area. So being thretened with a large find the next time I was pulled over I went home and did this to the tint on the drivers window and passanger window, from start to finished the whole job was done in about 1/2hr. Window tint came off clean with all glue on it.

Once I peeled the tint off, I used a product called Goop that I got at Advanced Auto Parts for 8 bucks. Wipe it on with a wet rag and let it soak in for a few minutes and then use a damp towel and wipe the glue off.
