This is a pretty basic question, but I cant figure it out for the life of me. I've noticed that everytime I restart the Nitro the CD player starts from the beginning (first track or first mp3 on data discs). Is there any way to set the stock cd player to 'resume'?

Hey f0dd3r, welcome to the forum. This is the place to ask all your Nitro questions.
About your CD question.....I have no idea....lol....sorry. Mine always resumes when I start the Nitro. Even when I turn off and use the radio. The only time it starts from the beginning is when I switch discs.
Anyone else any ideas....

Same here, Limey. Unless I change discs it resumes where I left off.

Maybe the dealer would be able to answer that for you?

Make sure you tell 'em that nobody else's Nitro does that when they tell you "No, it's supposed to do that!" hehe

Hey, mine has the same problem ... intermittently. (The dealership has not been able to duplicate the issue.)

The "band-aid" fix is to shut off the stereo unit BEFORE turning off the vehicle ... or at least before you open the door. Mine will resume from the point it stopped at if I do that.

ps ..... where do they hide the "pause" button for the CD????????????

I don't play CDs as a rule. I use the uploaded songs on the MyGiG HDD or use SAT radio a lot. The playlist always resumes from where it left off. I haven't found any "pause" feature either, not for DVDs for sure. That's disappointing!

Hi guys, sorry to bump up an old thread. I just bought a Nitro for the misses and I've noticed the same problem in hers. I have a cd going and jump out to pump gas, get back in and I'm back at track 1. Is there a fix for this issue yet? I need to take the car in for some other issues and was wondering will they be able to resolve this one or will I just be wasting my time?

Well my '07 would resume. Just took in my '08 and this was one of my complaints - would restart each time. When i picked it up it did the resume thing and guess what - today it is back to starting at track 1 - grrrrr! So whatever they did fixed it for 4 days!

I had the dealer look at this to try and resolve it. They kept it for a few hours working on some other things as well and came to the conclusion that the problem was with my burned cd's. I argued with the guy trying to explain to him I've tried both burned cd's and regular cd's and it does it with both. he claimed they tried it several times with both formats and it would not do so with a regular cd. Right after I left, I had a regular cd in the player and jumped out to pump gas, got back in and I was back at the start of the cd. I'm going to take this problem to another dealer since the one i bought the vechile from isn't much help.

I had the dealer take a look at this again as well on Friday and they finally found a fix for it. They had on the paperwork there was a TSB for this problem and had to do a software flash update to resolve the issue. When I get home and look at the paperwork again I can post the TSB number for anyone else having this problem.

My CD's and/or DVD's always resume without fail...to date anyway. ;)

As for the pause thing, with all you GUYS out there reading this thread, I'm surprised not one of you mentioned the remote?!?!?! :chuckle:

:Na_Na_Na_Na: What's your point???????????????? :Na_Na_Na_Na:

Actually, I couldn't figure out why the last 2 car stereos I bought came with remotes ... I never had a place to actually PUT the remote! But if I had a convenient place to store one, if the roads were bumpy, it might be easier to use a remote than to try to stab at the right button on the stereo (while trying to keep the other eye on traffic).

Well, the Nitro has a very good place to PUT the remote...in that nice compartment thingy (my technical terms are astounding I know :chuckle: ) in the dash just above the stereo! :p

LOL!!! Exactly what I'd call it!

I've actually entertained the thoughts of an after-market stereo, but they are all so bloody complex ... some of them require consulting the manual just to figure out how to turn them off and on!

I had a time trying to figure out my mom's new stereo ... she ended up having to go back (again) to Car Toys to have them explain stuff. I couldn't even figure out how to access the menu or how to program favorite stations.

I'm one of those people who appreciates User Friendly and intuitive stuff.

Go figure.
