My 2007 Nitro SXT 3.7 idles at about 500 RPM's when it is warm which results in quite a bit of shaking in the car. I took it into the dealer and they said that is the normal RPM's and the shaking was not severe enough for them to do anything.
Just out of curiosity what RPM's does everyones NITRO idle at?

Just a thought but have any of you with a rough idle checked your air filter? I would think that with an idle as low as we have on the 3.7 even a little restriction in air flow might cause it to gasp and grumble some.

well, I mentioned it to my girl to add to my list of to do's when i take it in in 2 weeks, she said it is probly time for the air filter to be replaced, it has not always done it, so maybe that is the cure

Mine runs smooth.
But the idle will vary up and down as soon as the heater fan is turned on.
even if the A/C is not.

i have replaced air filter on it . the last reprogram they just did ( last friday)seems to have made it worse. it used to idle rough sometime .... now its all the time w/a c off.... it does seem to have a bit better performance though, but i have seen it idle so smooth that you couldnt tell it was running , i honestly think its a mechanical issue not a programming or flash thingy ,

The idle will go up slightly if there is a load (like the A/C compressor). Just because the A/C light isn't on, doesn't mean the compressor doesn't run. If you have any air going towards the windshield (and certain other criteria like outside temp are met), the A/C compressor will run occasionally.
