Hey all,

A parishioner just bought a used yellow Jeep. He was telling me how when he encounters other Jeep drivers on the road (esp. with yellow), they always wave. Thought that was cool, then....

I am on my way to my brother's place after Mass one Sunday, and just get off the Dan Ryan, and I see another Nitro coming opposite direction....as we passed by each other, he smiled and waved (of course I returned the gesture)...never had that happen re a particular vehicle before....just wanted to share the experience....

peace,
Rich

I pulled up to a Nitro here yesterday at a light and I waved. The driver didn't look but the lady did and I think she just thought I was flirting with her..That's when I stepped on it and hopefully she got it then..

chitowner, I truly believe that it is on forums like these that this is where it all starts. Bunch of people with common interest and it spreads. I am always looking for Nitros hoping to spot someone from here and I always nod or wave as we pass each other:wavey: .

Maybe one day we can wave to each other:cool:

Never drove a Corvette or rode a motorcycle, huh. Same situation there too.

In the Nitro I've had it go both ways..... one guy will wave & the next one will be clueless when I wave at them.

I've seen like 5 red ones, an orange SLT, a white SXT & a black SLT. Their getting a lot more common than a couple months ago.

yeah same with Scion....at first

I think when a model is new and UNIQUE like the nitro or Scion xb a couple of years ago...people are happy to have one of the few on the road at the moment and feel compelled to wave at other folks who have the same car. Unfortunately when the car becomes common the waves stop:confused:. My wife and I were waving at folks all the time the first six months in our xb....but then EVERY other business owner in town bought one and slapped graphics on them then we were just like them...

Back in the 60's

I frequently rode with a friend that had a TR6a ( Triumph that was a fun ride) the greeting was flashing the headlights. I use to get the wave with the Element I had, not many Nitros here yet I haven't had one pass me yet but I would wave anyway. I did go past a used car lot today and saw a Silver SXT on it , Thats a sad sight so soon. Hey Blue my first car was a 57 VW ( who needs a heater) another fun car , hauling 5 guys and myself home from school with about 40 hp in the back end. ( we had 4 in the TR6 a few times too) :eek:ld:

Down here in the south we do that alot...especially in small towns you pretty much wave at everyone you can see their face at red lights, stop signs etc. Kind of corny but at least people are friendly.

Being a Bike owner motorcyclist often regardless of brand of bike extend their arm out wards tword each other hands out (to mock slaping hands) when they meet oncoming cycle riders.

I remember waving a people when I worked in Roswell, NM - driving between there and Albuquerque or Santa Fe, of even up to Denver via the backroads - always a wave. When I moved back to Chicago, I was still in that mode, and I quit after I waved, a guy looked at me and flipped me off (not in Kansas - or Roswell - anymore, Toto!)....

Just feels good to connect even in passing.
