Anybody know if the service counter can be changed? Mine starts at 2500 miles.

What's a service counter? I guess I don't have one on my Nitro? My son's GTI has a thing on his display that tells him how long til his next oil change, is that it? O/T, his new GTI 2.0L turbo calls for 10,000 miles between oil changes but required 0w-20 Synthetic oil (not too easy to find).
