okay so drop off the nitro at 7:30am apt. with list of
1. oil change
2. roof rattle/vibration that is about to drive me INSANE
3. a/c STILL not blowing cold
4. freakin radio plays all day to keep itself company
5. trans hesitation

I call them at 4:30 pm; they are just now looking at the transmission. so I tell her politely that I need to leave, still have 45 minutes to just get to my home and then have my children to church which is 15 minutes past my home. So she tells me there is a flash on the trans to bring it back.

now to address my issues service dept style:

1. oil change-NOT done-couldn’t get to it

2. roof rattle/vibration – removed and repaired, replaced roof racks (I drive it not even a block guess what? THE ROOF STILL RATTLES)

3. a/c STILL not blowing cold- oh you guys are gonna LOVE this one
“well back in the shop it is blowin’ at 35 degrees” me: “how is that possible when it blows hot and cold ALL day EVERYDAY since the last time I was here?” cow: "well do you have the recirculation on?” me: “no-I don’t need it on full power all the time” cow: “well for the a/c to work properly you have to have both buttons pushed in and have the fan on high” me: huh?!? that is not how all my other cars have worked, a/c has 2 levels normal, low to high and max, low to high” cow: "well w/ the Chrysler units they don’t work that way.” Me:WTF!!!

4. freakin radio plays all day to keep itself company- not able to duplicate, even after I mentioned it needed the TIPM

5. trans hesitation-not enough time to check that, we drove it, but we need to do a flash on it.

So I leave and notice the rattle, then like a slap in the face I realize they had my nitro 9 hours and all they did was play w/ the radio and use up my gas! I call and talk to the manager, I told them they had my vehicle all day and didn’t do a damn thing (I was using my sweet girl voice cause I wanted to catch flies….blahblah-bs) when he informed me that was just not true, it sounds like you had several issues that take 4 or 5 different ppl to have time to do those things we need all day and you needed to make an apt.

Meangirl voice “you DID have it ALL DAY! let me just tell you this, I was made to feel like I was a burden b4 bringing it in for each problem so I made list and at the top of the list was an oil change” cow’s manager “well you know you are running it too hard between oil changes you have nearly 10,000 miles on it…that is just too long” meanie: “I scheduled my apt 10 days ago and I put 70 or so miles on my car a day and my oil change was not even addressed. And I DID make an apt to drop off at 7:30am” cow’s manager: “well the apt is only for the drop off, not a guarantee that your vehicle issues will be addressed” meangirl “what kind of BS are trying to feed me? This is the biggest pile of horse**** I think I have ever heard and I want to talk to YOUR supervisor” cow’s manager became VERY nice and apologized and told me to bring it on Monday and he would personally take care of all my issues.

My solution will be to bring it back to the dealership I bought it from in the small town and receive personalize small town attention. So if you guys know anyone at Mike Smith Dodge in Beaumont Texas….tell them not to go to work next week cause things may go BOOM!!....lol, jk, thanks for letting me rant and if anyone has an idea about the a/c bs story please let me know!!

sorry to hear about that bad experience with the dealer. Ig uess this is the closest dealer to you, that's why you went there? I wouldn't let that go, I would keep working my way up the food chain of the dealership, as you started to do. Don't let the manager off the hook for those comments, go to the dealer owner if you have to! That really pisses me off when they do that.

They told me they didn't have time to fix my roof rattle the last time I was in for my last oil change. I'm halfway to my next one and I'm going to insist that they fix it this next time I'm there.

a/c

I got the run around with my a/c too. At times it gets coolish, others downright cold. Took it in for a whole days' worth of stuff, and they said my a/c blew at 35 degrees, while mentioning Mopar's '2 buttons on to get cold air' bs design. I said that I do use recirculate, and want my a/c colder. They said there is no problem. Now everytime that I take it in, I'm having them check the a/c, eventually they'll get tired enough of me that they might actually do something about it...

I don't like your dealer Meangirl. At least the oil change should of been done. That would of been the most important. Then the radio,in case the battery went dead. But I had the a/c problem. Sometimes it was real cold and sometimes just a little cool. My dealer had to put some refridgerent into the a/c system. They told me that the factory doesn't always fill them completely.

it is right across the interstate so I drop it off and one of my guys come and get me....maybe convenience is my problem

I don't like them either, that's why I didn't purchase from them, should'nt have used them for service either. when we were looking we went there and told them what we were offered at a smaller dealership....no lie, they told us "we don't have to compete w/ another dealer we sale 100 cars a month." I looked at my hubby and looked at the guy and said "BYE!" we got in the rental and left. he called like a million times....I lived up to my name...I went ALL meangirl on him!!

but have you guys been told that you are not using the a/c properly? I mean come on it does not take a rocket scientist to push a damn button right? the cow told me that the way I am doing it is no more than a vent, for the a/c to cool properly both buttons need to be pushed and the fan on high....come on! so if the fan on any setting and the middle button pushed it is no more than a vent of outside air then why is it cool sometimes and sometimes not? cow told me that I'm just lucky that my vent blows cold....what the hell? I swear I'm gonna have a stroke here.

calm down gurrl! you'll get everything fixed. I know the frustration, but keep hammering them or take your business elsewhere, they obviously don't care about their customers.

well for the a/c to work correctly. You do have to have the middle button pushed and the one on the right pushed also. which close'es off the outside air vent and lets the a/c recirclulate (cool air) in the truck. The fan, and for cooling needs' you should not have to put the fan on no more than 3. But I see you live in Texas. Can you tint you windows. Even if it's just a slight tint on the fronts can make a huge difference in your cooling needs. And the a/c won't have to work as hard. Just to make things clear. Both the middle and the right button need to be used and have the little light lit up.

Plan A.
At our dealership they have a bell and whenever a sale is finalized you (the buyer) rings the bell to tell everyone know you just bought a new vehicle. Bloody stupid if you ask me, it's got sweet f a to do with anyone else if I just bought something.
Anyway, back to the bell, if they have one go and ring it till you get everyone's attention and then announce to them all that their service sucks and advise not to buy a Nitro from there. You'll either get your Nitro fixed or get carted off a hunky cop.

Plan B.
Get a friend to meet you outside the dealership with a camera and start snapping pics. When they come ask you ask what you're doing tell them it's for a newspaper article on the dealership and how bad they treat customers. You'll either get your Nitro fixed or get carted off by a hunky cop.

Plan C.
Call Chrysler customer service and tell them what you think of that dealership then go back to your local one and have them do it right. Sorry no hunky cop this time but at least you'll get your Nitro fixed.

Have a nice day T.

^^^^This is not good advice. RECIRC is for limited use. Use it when you temporarily when you want to quickly cool down the vehicle or to eliminate outside odors. RECIRC, if left on all the time will cause mold buildup on the the evaporator coil and cause an odor.

Not knowing what the actual temperature your vehicle is cooling to, and not diagnosing it myself I can't say for sure if something is or isn't working correctly. If all the A/C components are working correctly, and the refrigerant charge is correct, then there may be a software issue. I have made mention to is in another post and have heard rumors it is being looked into.

hey CL.....I LOVE the hunky cop options!!! NT I do have my windows tinted. well I called the dealership where I bought the nitro and the girl there does not sound like a fat cow...she was very sweet and displeased of my story...unlike the jerk service dept who has 1 guy for each issue they send ALL techs to school and they all know everything there is to know so 1 guy can take my nitro and resolve my issues. we will see. I have jury duty on monday so I will meet her at 7:30 and she will bring me to court...:w00t:and if I need it, pick me up and bring me back to my nitro....what a doll!! I did warn her that I was a meangirl, catholic, do NOT tollerate injustices done to children or the elderly, think that beaters and molesters need to be bent over a barrel and made to squeal like a pig(if you know what I mean) and believe in the death penalty so I may not be a juror for long, we both had a good chuckle and NOW I can get on w/ the rest of my day!! btw, my diet after yesterday and this morning is SHOT....lol

Mean Girl,

I had the roof rattle and it was fixed the first time--why-- because I printed the TSB from this forum and handed it to the dealer when I brought it in.

Do the same with each item on your list -- I think that there are TSB's for most or these items. Dealers do not keep up with the TSB's nor do they try to.

Wouldn't it be tragic if the guy on trial Monday was that service manager?

(Sorry, it's how my mind works, I can't help it)
yeah, that would be tragic, the dealership would be on trial and this guy would take the fall! death penalty for sure!!! :chuckle:
