We have been the happy owner of our silver SLT since May. We have 6300 miles and average around 22MPG. Tomorrow we are making a trip from the Tampa area to Virginia. I'll give you a report on the MPG and any issues if any on return.

Hi Nitro Owners,
We returned from our trip to Virginia and the surrounding area. Having had three (3) Durangos I can say the Nitro is a great ride. I do not know what the comments about the stiff ride, poor steering, bad brakes, bad ac, bad seats, poor mileage and all the negative comments come from. Just put on 2990 miles and averaged between 23.5 And 24.6 MPH. That is a lot better than my 05 Durango and had plenty of pep to get us there. I can say I enjoyed the drive.
If you happen to read this and are considering buying a Nitro don't be concerned about the comments that it does not drive as good as the other car I had. Notice car is a key word. I think sometimes people should slow down a smell the Rose and not complain about the thorns.
