Avoid the films please, they are cheap, and are not worth it...
The proper way to do is to have them dipped/painted and fully covered in a thin smoked material.
In LA, there are several places that do it, I've heard 120 for the two tails, and it takes 1.5 days to complete.
I have the tint on mine, after 3 months, its shrunk, and left a glue residue destroying my headlight, as the red will fade if i use chemicals to remove the glue. I'm going to peel them and get them dipped eventually.

So its probably $60 for me to do it.
If i can find somebody.
LA is usually double what Texas pays.

I have had the oppertunity to tint over 100 sets of tails and will be offering this service at headlightsupercenter!
My regular price for this service is $110.00 without clear and $135.00 with clear. I can tint them almost as dark or as light as you want them. If there is enough intrest and people would like to set up a group buy on my forum I would be willing to lower the price as well.
You would have to pay to have the lights shipped to me and return shipping and They could be done within 2 days at most (could be sooner depending on when I recieve them an drying time)
Also if there is enough intrest I would also be willing to pick up a set of lights and do a core exchange program. This might slightly raise the prices though.

I think some of these ebay vendors try to make money on the shipping! nice catch with Summit Racing, that is a great site!

i have been purchasing from summit racing since about 1985 they are awsume, have tons of items, cheap fast shipping (i always get my items the next day) & they match prices
i have built more cars buying parts from them then i want to remember (spent way way to much money there, i must own half the place by now hehehe)

I had the opportunity to use their phone support and they were awsome there too! thy worked it out so I could get my muffler and exhaust tips shipped directly to NC instead of to Canada. I wasn't even asked my order number or phone number or anything, as soon as the operator was on the phone with me, they had my account open and my order open and they already knew why I was calling! That is impressive customer support!

yea thats the stuff. VHT NIGHT SHADEZ. sorry, i put amazon it was ebay. i bought some for like 10$ a can at a local store and painted me lights, my buddys ford lightning, and a 350z with 2 cans. its good stuff just read the directions. only problem is that once u finish painting them you shouldnt try to repaint them darker so make sure u got the perfect darkness
to the shop guy tha paints the taillights, do you have pics? i will send them to you because i want them really black. 110 with clear coat is a little steep knowing that shipping costs will be kinda expensive also. id do 80$
