I want to remove the rear and front door pannels and replace the stock speakers, I noticed there are no screws. does anyone think that clips are what holds this pannel on to the door?

REMOVAL

1. Remove the door handle trim bezel (6).
2. Remove the fastener (5) from the handle area of the front door trim (4).
3. Use a very thin pry tool to remove the cap screw covers (3) from the front door trim (4).
4. Remove the screws (2) from the front door trim (4).
5. Remove the power window switch and disconnect the electrical connector.
6. Disengage the trim panel from the four way locator at the handle area of the trim panel, then carefully remove the door trim panel (4) from the door (1) by lifting upward until removed from the door lock and the mounting attachments on the carrier plate.
The rear door panel removal is similar.

The door speakers are 6.5". Nice size really. The door panel can be difficult to remove. Hope this helps.

Thanks

This is fantastic info here, I have been thinking about upgrading my speakers since I got mine, and was afraid to do it, these pics make me think I can do it too, makes it much easier to handle.

Couple of questions, does anyone know if its ok to use the Kicker Upgrades that have tweets in them for the front doors, and leave the tweets alone in the dash?

Also did the sound deadning option pay off, did you have less plastic rattles and did it actually make the cabin quieter to outside noise when driving ?

Thanks, Flaps

Very helpful thread. I had an intermittent passenger side window switch, and it turned out to be a switch rocker that was not seated properly.

It was one of those things I never thought of, until two of us were taking a trip together, so it had been bugging us a long time.

Aftermarket speakers using standard radio??

Hey peeps! For starters...this posting is totally awesome. I have learned so much in the site, that this page just makes it that much better! So here goes...

Would replacement speakers sound good with the stereo that comes in the Nitro? Meaning is there enough juice in it to be worth replacing the speakers? How about the tweeters in the dash? I thought of just replacing the door speakers and keeping the dash tweeters. Thoughts or suggestions would be great!!

Go with the Kickers available through Mopar. The front set consists of doors and dash, and the rear set is just for the doors. They make your Nitro sing - no comparison to the stock speakers!

This thread is old but whatever, anyone know if I can put the infinity speakers in to replace the stock speakers and tweeters, will I need to hook them up to an amp? Or would the kicker upgrade work/do I need to power them with an amp?

You do not need to power the Kicker Speakers with an amp. They work fine with any mygig, or any factory HU, for that matter. But, the mygigs are only rated @ 66w, or 16.5w/ch! So, I am looking for an external amp and will install it when I add my sub. BTW, the Kicker Upgrade Speakers are rate @ 75w RMS, 150w max.

I upgraded with alpine, the tweeters were installed on the doors instead of the dash... Definitely nice to have upgraded speakers
