I have a 2011 Shock. I was having the problem of no heat in the cabin, just cold air. I decided to replace the blend door actuator before flushing the heater core. After replacing the actuator, whola! heat. However, when I turned the car off after testing I could not remove the key from the ignition. I tried all of the normal tricks of turning the wheel and moving the selector out of park and back in. Still will not come out. Finally I moved the selector to neutral and was able to remove the key. After it was removed I placed the selector in Park. This works repeatedly in neutral but the key will not come out if in Park. There were no other connections or wires involved in replacing the blend actuator. Just 3 torx screws and an electrical connector. Easy to get to right under the dash by the drivers right knee. Any thoughts?

Welcome to the forum KenG1226. When you have a chance, head over to the Newbie Section and say "Hi".

    Anyway.
My guess is the shift interlock is not moving correctly.
Unfortunately, you have to remove the center console to really have good access to the switch by the shifter. You can try removing the bezel that is around the shifter and see if you can move it by hand.

Use extreme caution in there! The main airbag controller is just in front of the hand brake. Don't mess with those wires unless you want your airbags to go off!

Here is a Pic of it from this thread.

    Scar0,

Thanks for the reply and the link. I will look at the Park interlock switch in a day or two. Just seemed like a really weird coincendence to fail after installing the blend door actuator.

Sorry I don't have an automatic, or I would be able to look at the interlock wire to see if it runs around the same area. But I suspect it probably does.

Just to close this thread.....about 3 days ago I was out and about. I put the Nitro in Park and the keys released and came out. It's been working perfectly ever since. Not sure what caused the issue or what fixed it but I am happy now! Thanks for the advice on this forum.
