How did you disconnect/connect the battery when this all happened?
The disconnection/connection of the cables have to be in the following order.
Always disconnect Neg (-) first then Pos (+), reconnect Pos (+) then Neg (-)!
NEVER disconnect the Pos (+) with Neg (-) still connected, and NEVER connect the Neg (-) without the Pos (+) already connected.

If you do it backward, you can fry the TIPM, as another member here learned the hard way...
Did you try to jump start the rig before replacing the battery?

Hi and Ty. Im assuming that you mean the knob here that says 2/4.So I should take the dash apart to check this wire? Here's the funny thing. The day before I went out in the morning and saw my light on the - read 4 wheel service, I had spilled something down in there. Wondering if that caused something. It was also a very very moist day that next morning.

Don't drive your nitro in 4WD on hard surfaces like tarmac you are sure to cause some very expensive damage, every time you turn a corner and your steering feels stiff its because the internal gears are binding against each other,
