Hi, I did a search on this topic and couldn't come across anything relevant. The issue I'm having is that I got a notice on the Nitro's computer display saying I needed an oil change. So I had an oil change done pretty much right away. Now I can't seem to get the notice to disappear. I checked through the manual to see if there was a way to reset it but couldn't seem to find anything there either. Hopefully someone knows the way to reset this reminder, or at least tell me if its something worth taking in to the dealer about. Thanks in advance for any replies.

I don't know about the Nitro but on my truck you turn the ignition to on (not start) - step on the gas three times - and the light will flash letting you know it's done. I guess the dealer has always done mine. I am sure somebody here changes their own oil but you might give it a shot until you hear different.

Any comments on the owner's manual statement that they recommend changing the oil (R/T, don't know about other models) every 6000 miles?

The dealer said change it at the first 3000 miles, then every 6000 miles after that.

I change my own oil every 3000-4000 miles but I have never gotten a reminder?? I guess my R/T isnt equipped with that option.

There were two answers to this question on yahoo answers. One match the cowboys answer, turn on key to on (not accessory) but don't start engine and then push the gas pedal to the floor three times within 30 seconds but not fast. The second answer said to turn key on, but do not start and hold the gas pedal down for 20 seconds and it will reset.

I have not had a oil change light come on (nor did I really know it existed) so I could not tell you if this is correct.

I work for Snap-on and have access to a Modis scanner and it resets all of my lights and codes so I'm not sure it will ever happen on mine.

What year is your Nitro? My 07 R/T does not have this functionality.

Thanks for the tips guys, I'll give it a shot tonight and see what happens. It's an 08 R/T btw.
