Thoughts on an exhaust mod

Been thinking about going to dual exhaust pipes and extending them straight thru the bumper. To accomplish this mod, I'd need to drill 2 holes in the bumper panel and insert a chome bezel to add a custom touch. Has anyone attempted this or am I headed for a costly bumper replacement? Anyone have any thoughts on this project??
