Well folks, I've had a great time with the Nitro. But it's time for a new ride.
Here is our new baby. 2018 Subaru Crosstrek in Ice Silver Metallic. The Pic doesn't do the color justice. Its kinda a blueish sliver color.

    Crosstrek1a.JPG

AWD auto with paddle shifter mode. This thing is a total blast to drive! Can't wait for the snow to get here...

Picked it up on Wednesday. It was the last one on the lot.
While we were pondering this and a few other rigs (HRV, CRV, Rav4, Escape) the dealership sold the other 6 they had in just 4 days. And they had customer orders for 3 more.
These things are just about the hardest new rig around to find. Every dealer in Wa and Or are almost sold out, with an average of 6 on order.
Lucky for us this had the options and color we wanted. So we snagged it up.

One little thing I forgot to mention, is that I don't get to drive it all the time. It' the wife's new ride, not mine. :p
Bet I had you all going for a second or two. LOL
The Nitro is going nowhere soon!

That's just wrong, Scar0! But glad your Nitro will be staying a while. :)

Nice new ride for the Mrs. Hope you both enjoy it! ;)

    :D
Thanks guys. One day so far and the smile has not left my wife's face.
After test driving the rigs I listed above, this was by far our # 1 choice. Rav was BIG$ for what you get, HRV & CRV, had lots of road noise, CRV being the worse of the 2, and the Escape was only 2DW at the price point of the Crosstrek AWD. (Did I mention it has paddle shifters?)

I was also so not looking forward to replacing the clutch in the Hyundai.
(BTW; anyone want to buy a 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe? Needs new clutch... LOL)

One nice thing is, she won't let me Mod it. So my time can be spent on the Cherokee toy. It's also time for some new rubber for the Nitro. My tires are pretty much shot and definitely not winter worthy. I'm very disappointed with those Dick Cepek tires.

Whew! That was a close one.

Glad your wife likes her Subi! Not suprising since that brand is so popular in the Northwest.
I think we're opting for a new Frontier or Colorado pickup for our next toy. We were planning on a new Wrangler but since Fiat took over, i'm not impressed with Jeeps lineup AT ALL.

I hear ya, looks like the days of a real 4x4 are limited.

My vote is for the Frontier. So much more truck for the money (especially the 4x4 model).

I had a GMC Canyon (Colorado counterpart) for a rental vehicle (2 weeks). I liked it ok, but it had way too much plastic in it & wasn't as good on MPG as GM claimed it got. I too had thought about buying one until I rented one. Nope! Not for me.

Thats the #1 choice. I've liked both of the ones i've driven and I think their 4x system is beefier than the one on the Colorado. I like the looks of both, the price is about the same for the 4x4, so it'll come down to which dealer wants to give me the best deal. ;)
