Today is the day!

After obsessing about the Nitro for months, today is finally the day I'll be able to call myself a Nitro owner!

I had actually resigned myself into waiting about 6 months or so, until I could get out of my current Chrysler lease without the high cost. I figured I would wait it out as long as possible. But last week, a client of my father's saw my car and remarked how much he liked it and my dad didn't miss a beat, knowing how badly I've been lusting after the Nitro, and asked him if he wanted it. He drove it that day and decided he would take over the lease at the end of the month.

It happened so quickly - I'm thrilled! I signed the lease transfer papers on Thursday and told my dealership (who has been nothing short of amazing and all accommodating) exactly what I wanted. Electric Blue, SLT, 8 Speakers, MyGig, Remote Start and 20" Wheels. I knew it was a long shot to find one, but I had spent the last few months researching everything I could and trying to locate one on my own. So I knew exactly which dealer had one and told my salesman. Turns out my "Dream" Nitro was in Calgary, about 6 hours away - just sitting there at the dealer, all perfect and ready for me.

I got a call this morning telling me my Nitro was here. I thought they were kidding - barely 2 business days! I get to pick it up this afternoon. Apparently if I'm not really happy with it (yeah right..) there are 14 people lined up ready to take it. Which doesn't surprise me. My lease man says it is amazing and he's already jealous.

Anyway - really long post. Just wanted to share my absolute thrill and excitement with everyone here. I've been a member of the forum for a little while, but now I'm really going to feel like a member of the club.

I will post pics as soon as I can.

GO BLUE!
Great to hear that another Hockey fan gets a new Nitro----even if you are from Saskatchewan.

I am still waiting for my black Nitro with Carolina Hurricanes black & red custom leather interior.

We may be out of the playoffs this year--- but we'll be back for the cup next year and I'll be tailgating at the RBC Center in my Nitro next season.

Go Canes!!! Go Nitro
I picked up my Nitro this afternoon, and let me tell you - it is GORGEOUS! All the sales people were jealous. It wasn't ready when I got there (they wanted to wash it up all nice) and didn't get to actually see it until all the papers were signed.

It was driven from Calgary on Saturday, so it came with 700 kms on it. But I don't care at all. They got it here so quick. The dealership owner (who has been amazing to me) was pissed because the Nitro wasn't ready and sitting there for me when I was done signing all the papers. My salesman got chewed out a little. It was funny - but I felt bad. It is not big deal that I had to wait a few minutes. The owner is very accommodating, considering I'm a young female and getting treated like an actual person in an auto dealership is sometimes hard to find - this man did everything he could to make me happy.

I got a pretty good deal, plus $300 of free gas - so I really can't complain.

I've spent the last hour reading up the manual for the MyGig and I'm incredibly excited to tinker with it. It's an amazing option. All the guys at the dealership had never seen one, so I'm supposed to play with it, then take it back and show them all the features.

My father just got a brand new Aspen with a $3,000 Nav system and after my bragging about MyGig, he's pissed that his doesn't have the kind of options and Sat radio, touch screen etc that mine offers. It really is quite awesome.

Hopefully I'll have pictures within the next few days.

Now I just need to think of a name for this beautiful blue beast.
Glad to hear of your great experience with the dealer. The dealers on this side of the border could learn a lesson in customer care from your Calgary dealer.

Curious--- What is the "Hockeybychoice" all about?
It was actually a Saskatoon dealer - Dodge City Auto. They handled everything - just did a dealer trade with the Calgary dealer to get my Nitro here.

Hockeybychoice comes from the saying "Aggressive by Nature, Hockey by Choice"
How about naming your Nitro with a Hockey Theme---- maybe carry it on to a custom plate?
