I am looking into buying a Yamaha boat and will need to tow it. I have an 07 SXT. It does not have the factory tow hitch or full size spare. I ordered a class 3 hitch and I'm waiting for it to get here. The boat I am planning to buy weighs about 2200 lb according to the spec sheet. I am a bit confused by the Nitro towing specs, but from reading various threads here about towing, it seems that up to 3500 lb is safe with the proper hitch, steering cooler, and oil cooler. I do have 2 coolers mounted up front, are these the needed coolers for towing 3500 lb, or would I need to add auxilliary coolers, in addition to these factory coolers? I apoligize, if this has been discussed. I have searched and read all I could in redard to this, but couldnt find the specific info.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks man. I didnt see that second thread for some reason. It looks like "properly equipped" basically means a Class 2 or 3 hitch and having the automatic transmission. I didnt see any other mention of the coolers though, so I hope what I have is what I need for up to 3500lb.

If you are talking about the coolers that you see through the lower opening in the front bumper, the small one is a power steering cooler and I think the one behind that is the AC condensor.

If you don't have a trans cooler, I would add one. If you have the 6-speed stick, no need. I have the tow package on my 6 speed SXT and it is rated at 3500 pounds. I have to check to see if I have an oil cooler-- not sure.
