I have read all of the countless posts on the "shudder" and the rumblestrip like feeling. Fortunately, we have not experienced this yet. I have read that this symptom occurs after the break in period of the torque converter. I have a couple of questions in regards to this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1. How long is this "break in period"?
2. Is this shudder subtle or is it hard to miss?
3. If this shudder happens, is it a prolonged duration or just a quick moment?

I guess I just want to know a little more clearly what I should be looking out for.
Thanks everyone!!:wavey:

Mine had 500 kms when delivered. They had to drive it down from TO. It had the shudder from day 1. I had it back to the dealer the next week.
It feels like the engine is missing a beat and for a split second it will baulk and then recover. Once you feel it you will know straight away.

Hi!

After my new torque converter was installed, it felt like a 150 mile break-in period. Up until that point, it shifted more as if it were cold (high shift points, etc), and then at 150 miles it started acting more normally. But not too long after that, the shudders and shifting at too low of a speed started appearing again.

I think the shudder varies as far as being noticeable ... sometimes more, sometimes less. It usually lasts as long as it takes for the transmission's computer to finally decide to give you the power you need and disengage the TC.
