I am just wondering if anyone else has this same problem. When using the UConnect hands-free feature, if there's the least little bit of noise in my Nitro (such as the fan is running or the wind is blowing or it is raining) the person on the other end cannot hear me. Obviously, I can turn the fan down but I can't control the wind or rain. Even when there is no other noise in the cabin, people on the other end are still having trouble hearing and understanding me. They say it sounds like I'm in a tunnel or it is echo-y. I've gotten to the point where I don't even use it lately because the people on the other end complain so much. Is there something I can do to fix this problem?

Dazzle ..I've had that distortion even when receiving calls. I turn down the radio volume to reduce background noise. I don't think this will help solve the problem on the other end. Closing the windows and sun roof does help though. When I have windows open u-connect has difficulty with voice recognition when placing calls. I try to face the mirror Mic as much as possible and still watch traffic.I know my voice (gravely) is part of the problem.

My radio automatically mutes when a call is being made or received so there's no background noise from the radio. There's no way I could use the feature with the windows down or the sun roof open! Even with the windows up and the sun roof closed, if there's any background noise at all (like I mentionded before: background noise if the wind is blowing extra hard or it is raining) I can't use it because of complaints from the caller on the other end saying they can't hear me. I'm just wondering if there's something wrong with it because it seems soooooooo sensitive.

u-connect

ours sounds clear both sending and receiving. When my wife calls me using u-connect, there is a slight tunnel sound, but I never have had a hard time hearing the call (even able to hear the back seat passengers just fine). My only issue is that the voice recognition (Call Home, etc) has problems understanding when my fan is on high, or my blinker is making its blinking noise...otherwise we love it.

hmm, mine is crystal clear on both ends. Other than the person on the other end being able to tell I'm on a speaker phone, there are no complaints.

There may be something out of whack with your settings if you can't use it when its raining or windy. Perhaps see the dealer about it?

THE_BOMB - Have you "trained" MyGIG to recognize your voice yet? (There is a feature that does that.) The reason I ask is because mine still recognizes me when my fan is on high.

Now that the rainy weather has arrived, I am having this problem constantly. If the windshield wipers are on, placing calls using the voice recognition is impossible. It is too bad because it is when the weather is bad that I really want to use the UConnect vs. holding the phone. Has anyone found a solution to this?

my wife and I both have it trained to our voices, but it does respond better to her...maybe I'll try training it to my voice again...
I wasn't aware you could train more than one voice, can you?

If not, that may be your problem. MyGIG does NOT respond well to my wife and we get a kick out of it because I joke about her being jealous of MyGIG's female voice. ;)
