SUBJECT:
Coolant And Washer Fluid Bottle Vent Hole
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves relocating the coolant bottle vent hole.
MODELS:
2007 (KA) Nitro
NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles built on and between August 21, 2006 and
October 6, 2006.
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The coolant vent hole at the front of the bottle located under center attachment maybe too
low.
DIAGNOSIS:
If the coolant bottle has a vent hole at the front of the bottle located under center
attachment, perform the Repair Procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Open the hood.
2. Open the coolant bottle cap and place a piece of duct tape to the inside of the bottle
filler neck so a sealed pocket area is created to catch chips created when drilling.
3. Drill a 5mm (3/16 in.) vent hole in the coolant bottle filler neck.
4. Press the duct tape fully against the inside of the coolant bottle filler neck to capture all
loose plastic chips, then remove the tape and discard it.
5. Close the coolant bottle cap.
6. Remove the 3 coolant/washer fluid bottle attachment screws from upper
crossmember.
7. Apply RTV sealant to the shaft of push pin, p/n 06036155AA.

8. Tilt/push coolant/washer fluid bottle back as much you can (you can tilt about 10
degree).
9. Insert and seat the push pin into the vent hole under the center attachment of the
coolant/washer fluid bottle.
10. Install the coolant/washer fluid to upper crossmember, tighten the screws to 1.7 -2.3
Nm (17-20 in. lbs.).
11. Close and latch the hood.
