Watching Nova last night and it was an episode on alternative fuels and cars of the future. They had a couple shots of the Detroit Auto Show that showed a White and either a Red or Orange Nitro (lighting made it hard to tell). Woo hoo for the Nitros!

Interesting episode on hydrogen technology, hybrid, electric motors, etc. Really the only thing we have now is the hybrids that are used in everyday society. But the way they talk electric and hydrogen vehicles shouldn't be long. I just hope they don't all go making small vehicles with no power. If that is the case I will still be a polluter and still forking out lots of money.

Yeah, same here.

I was out with a group of co-workers, and one has a Suburban or similar "gas-guzzler" ... she's got 3 kids, okay? Well, the husband of another got really "cold" towards her, as if she was a "bad person" for driving something like that. Refused to shake her hand when she left!

Sad that some would force the rest of us into tiny, tinny, uncomfortable, gutless vehicles. As if we should ALL be driving a Prius or something. Sure, they have their place, and many do lke them. They aren't for me!!!

I like the roominess of my Nitro. Sure I could be driving something smaller. But there's this thing about Freedom Of Choice, right???

Exactly. I have got some friends who drive those small cars and I can't get them for the life of me to get anything bigger. I don't however quit being their friends over it.

I am proud to say what I drive has over 300HP and my next ride will be pushing 400HP

Electric vehicles are already used in Canada and, I'm sure, other countries. There is a growing industry of converting vehicles to electric.

I agree though, I don't want some slow vehicle. It's difficult (expensive) to make a vehicle light and safe at the same time. And you need to make a vehicle light to make it efficient.
