Have intermittent issues with all of these items: uConnect (iPhones won't pair), windows (driver's side often refuses to roll all the way up/down), starting (sometimes starter won't activate, sometimes starter continuously turns over and engine won't catch) and alarm (goes off when you unlock the car), and power locks (sometimes motor seems to "catch" when locking/unlocking, hums for several seconds and locks stick partway down/up). This is all very intermittent, so took car to dealer for a day and they were unable to reproduce any of the symptoms! Has anyone had a problem anything like this with multiple, seemingly unrelated electrical issues?

Um... and not to rag on my Nitro further, but has anyone else noticed how extremely "bouncy" the suspension is? (But I do like the 4WD just fine!!!)

Hello & welcome to the forum!

I am on my second Nitro and am not having too many problems with it. But one thing for me is if I hit the unlock button twice too quickly the alarm goes off. Maybe try that?
Our first Nitro was very bouncy and not a 4x4. Our new one just slightly and hubby replaced struts and shocks and now it is so much better!
It does seem these vehicles are possesed or something and know when not to have problems. As long as you have issues keep returning to the dealer and keep in mind you aren't alone.

Yes, the Nitro definitely bounces. I replaced my shocks with Bilsteins and that's helped. I'm going to get the Eibach lowering kit soon. I think that'll help as well.

Good luck with the problems you're having. Hopefully you can get them fixed.

Thanks for all the replies - I'm trying the whole window reset trick and going back to the dealer tomorrow - will let you guys know how it goes. We get a lot of rain on Kauai so I'm fairly sure some electrical stuff will be related to that ;-)

My Nitro is sensitive to rainy weather. It starts up for 3-4 seconds when it rains and engine is cold. I had issues with starting before - sometimes it did not start at all, those issues were never reproduced, but second time after it was at dealer I did not have problems although dealer said they did not find issue. For almost one year it is fine. I also had problem with window but it was mechanical problem when it was new. There were also 2 recalls with my Nitro - all electronics related. If bigger problem happens again I will sell it and buy some good korean car for the seling price of my nitro.

alarm issue

Hey all,

I just a 2010 Nitro. I am having an iterminted problem. When I set the alarm it sets just fine with the chirp and the doors locks. Sometimes when I hit to disarm the alarm is supposed to chirp twice. Now sometimes its fine and other times it does not chirp when I disarm. Any Ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Andy
