Serious clunking in the drivers side front end. R/T 4.0 making a vibration sound in the front end seems to be something vibrating but may also be a motor mount issue. W/my wife in the truck, brake on, in Drive, it makes a vibrating sound that you can also hear going down the road. If I place my hand on the engine and apply a little pressure the vibration goes away or if you place the car in neutral w/brake on the noise goes away. Anyway, I will be taking it to the shop next week to have them fix it I hope.

Sorry to learn about your issue man. Sounds like your issue could very well be a motor mount problem. Let us all know about the solution your dealer imposed. Whatever you do, please post back with results! I and everyone else hear is curious to know what the problem was.

It took me a while but I finally jacked the front of the truck up and put it on jack stands. Crawled under the truck with a light and have found a bolt missing on the motor mount. It clearly just backed out and fell on the street somewhere. Does anybody have a clue what size bolt belongs there? :shakehead:

That's actually a good thing. You had me worried there for awhile. Just take it by the dealer and have them fix it. They should be as shocked by it as you.

btw, I did figure out what bolt was needed, went to Lowes and $2.27 later everything is back where it belongs with no clunking. I did call the dealer to see if they had the bolt in stock and of course they did not. Said it would take 4 days to get it so I decided taking it back to the dealer for a warranty repair was probably not the best idea.

How can not taking a vehilcle back to the dealer for warranty repairs not be the best idea, especially on a critical component as this!? Will that $2.27 Lowes bolt hold under the conditons a motor mount will put on it? Hope it doesn't break again and cause bigger issues. Warranty will not be a problem then! Please have them install the correct bolt, even if it is four days from now. Besides, they need to know this issue is still going on.

It turns out the motor mount was missing some bolts.
Glad you were able to get it fixed. Definitely something to remember if I ever get a clunk. Thanks for letting us know about it.
