We have only owned our Nitro for about a month, and we took it to a Simoniz carwash - courtesy of the dealer - for a free car wash. I choose no freshner because it still smells like a new car, I also asked them not to use anything on the dash - they used the tire shine on the tires. On my way home I stopped at a circle K and when I got out I saw black spattered on all 4 fenders - when I got home I tried to wipe it off and was unable to get it off - it looked as if it was stained into the fenders. I contacted the car wash and returned there later that day, they tried to buff out the stains, and were able to remove some of them but not all. They wrote up an incident report and I was referred to the General Manager. We set up an appointment to meet the following Saturday. When we arrived at the car wash the General Manager informed us that he had done some research durning the week, and there are other locations of Simoniz across the Country that have reorted the same issue with the Tire Shine staining the fenders on some 2006-2007 Dodge cars - not just the Nitro. So they stated that if within 30 days it has not faded out to where it cannot be seen - we can return and they will take care of the problem. That has been a week ago, and the stains have almost disappeared. But be careful..... ask for NO TIRE SHINE.

That is truly disturbing. Did the manager offer any reason this affects Dodge products and not others? Or does it affect other makes?

I certainly hope your stains are soon gone!

the manager of the car wash stated that Dodge had changed the clear coat and this is the reason for the problem... .. I have not checked with Dodge personally, but did inform my dealer of the issue :wavey:
