I almost had a Nitro: 1 Pedestrian: 0 incident today. I mean, it was REALLY close.

Small teeny slender young woman was standing to my right waiting to enter the crosswalk, and she was COMPLETELY inside of my right-side blind spot with the pillar and the big passenger-side mirror. I swear I think I'm particularly alert about such things, and I wasn't distracted or anything! But she sneaked into there somehow, or had been there, and I'll be darned my light turned green and so did her crosswalk sign, and I started to make a righthand turn and came within about 2 inches of hitting her.

It was slow speed, I wasn't race-starting or anything, but DANG that might have hurt my BUMPER!

So I thought it might be a good thing to pass along to remind us all -- LOOKOUT for that blind spot with all the peoples out and walking about now that it's summertime. They really HIDE in that blind spot, we need to peer around it some extra, I guess! KEEP OUR NITRO BUMPERS SAFE FROM PEDESTRIAN DAMAGE! Yeah!

Womenz Driverz. :)

Just kidding!!!!!!

I don't have this issue since I drove a Freightliner for 18 years but I see it happen all of the time. It really amazes me that a pedestrian gives a car coming at them no respect. Yes, I know it is the law that they have the right of way, but being right will not make them any less dead if they enter into this competition.

Yep, the girl had headphones on, or she probably would have heard me starting to accelerate (mah happy JBA exhaust rumble!) before she stepped out -- still, it was my job to watch and I really almost failed. Spooked me! I mean, I KNOW to look out for the nutcase motorcyclists and cyclists, but at least they do me the favor of being visible on the road somewhere, if even coming up behind me.

I don't mean to BLAME my Nitro's fat pillar, it was all my fault, but it reminded me that I am vulnerable to that boo-boo.

I've almost run over 4 peds on left turns. Again skinny folks wearing dark coats when its dark out. The worst part is I'm the one that gets yelled at either by the pedestrian or my wife in the passenger seat.

Have there been any attributed to the blind spot?

The blind spot on the pass side is horrid. I have almost ran over a Ford Focus, Ford uhhh suv thing and almost hit my neighbors for truck (I think there is a pattern going on there). As far as people go... the kids in my hood are nasty little buggers that dont look for cars, will run out infront of you, scratch your cars with their scooters, bikes, whatever... so I do look for them... Guess its Fords I dont care much about!

ROFLOL!!!

Nothing like perspective!!!

But yeah, it's too bad that some pedestrians somehow think that the crosswalk lines will somehow suspend the laws of physics ... no respect for the fact that they would likely lose a competition with the vehicle ... and possibly lose big time.

You did what you could ... skinny lady should have checked for traffic, made sure the driver saw HER!!! When I'm pedestering ... or whatever ... I always try to keep an eye out for the cars when I'm entering an intersection, or crossing in front of a driveway or parking garage entrance for that matter.

Glad you and the pedestrian didn't reach out and touch each other!!!

When I first got the Trō, I had a couple of close ones.
Now, at an intersection I look like a bobble head doll, checking around the pillars.
