They tried to fix it, it's been in the body shop for 30 days. My car was hit while parked by two drunk mexicans in a stolen car, who fled the scene... causing heavy frame damage on the rear left, rear subframe, front right(from compressing against the curb) and eventually landing on a street cleaning metal pole also damaging the front.

Today they told me it will be totalled out for sure and it was assigned to the final dept to calc a total.

Well I don't think a second nitro will be in my future, I did go to see what th Jeep offers were tonite on the liberty, just out of curiosity, but I think it has the same flaws my Nitro did.

Unfortunadely all I was able to get off was the K&N cai which I put up in the classifieds, with my eibach springs and the console cover, but I will need your stock setup, like tommorrow (1/23), also my birthday, yay, before my Nitro goes to Salvage.

Real bummer .I had a similar situation ,also Hispanics "I think".There were three of them and I got a good look at them They T-boned my Chevy pickup (New ) and sped away .I pursued them but lost them in traffic. I did get the plate # .When the police went for them the address was a vacant lot .

Yeah, I didn't mind the footwell issue which it gets bashed for, but I didn't like the ride quality till it was lowered, still even then, I wanted to try new suspension components..

That really sucks! As long as your insurance company gives you replacement value and not pro-rated value you should do fine. Good luck on finding the next new ride! Decisions, decisions.......

Just as a side note, I sold my bike years ago (early 80's) when I lived in the Ventura/Oxnard area. PCH was ok for riding but anywhere else was nuts and decided to sell it. Two weeks after selling it, it became a pile of twisted metal when a semi took it on. The new owner was ok, but I was bummed knowing a great bike was trashed.

When I drove through LA on the way to FL last year, the traffic was a mess and getting from I-5 to I-10 through the Santa Ana's and dust was another fun experience. I did get royally blown away by two Enzo's headed east out of LA. They had to be at 120-140 and climbing!

Bummer man, I sure hope you have GAP insurance. If you have do and you have pics and receipts of your "add ons" ,the insurance should cover you for prorated value minus install. Better than nothing.

What are you thinking your next vehicle will be?

I ran home to check my garbage monday morning to get my stockers so I could sell them, but the trash had come, there is really no way I can get the springs out now, unless you are in LA, as I need to replace the eibachs with the stockers or the ins company, they need a complete vehicle.

The K&N I have for sale, and I am looking to sell to a 4.0 R/T in need of a CAI, I also have 1 drop in filter for sale as well.

Thank god nobody was hurt or killed.

I wish you the best of luck with whatever you buy. It would be nice if you can buy another Mopar as there are lots of hard working people at their plants that deserver to keep their jobs.
