My Nitro heater have stopped to warm the cab , I suppose that is something wrong with the electro-valve that grants the hot fluid flow in the internal radiator. (Thermostat seems working properly, there's just no hot water in the circuit)
Where is the valve ? I see a switch-like plug connected to a metallic pipe (with three electric cables connected by above) just left of the cooling fluid tank. (SXT)
The hoses both being hot is a good thing.
Sounds like a blend door on the inside of the rig is just stuck or it could be the control knobs.
Either way it shouldn't be an expensive fix.
If it is the blend door actuator, yes it is on the inside of the rig. See the last post in the thread you linked.
It could also be the controller knobs on the dash. It is hard to say for sure without being there to see/test it.
Scar0 do you have a guide to unmount the interior car to check it ? I tried to remove the car audio , all the AC controls but I've seen no radiator inside :\
Thats a tough one, you basically have to remove everything in the dash area to get to the heater core. Including the passenger airbag, the dashboard, center console, HVAC housing (AC evaporator), and the Air distribution housing (heater core inside). Don't do anything to the dash area without removingthe Neg(-) battery cable first and wait 10 minutes!
You might have someone try to back-flush it... Another member here just did this and they said it was much better.
I'd be surprised if a heater core is clogged. The nitro has not been around very long. How do you know it is clogged?
There is no valve, hot coolant is always flowing through the heater core. The blend door inside the vent system moves to allow air to flow through the core when you want heat. Sofar typical things to go wrong are a stuck blend door, a bad blend door actuator, or the heater control has gone bad.
Well my heater stopped blowing. Dealership wants $800 to fix it! Hopefully a flushing will fix it. 73k miles I found it weird it would be clogged. All the controls sound and feel like they are working.
The blower works but the air is cool to Luke warm. Of the temperature is turned to cold the air turns ice cold ( outside temp). So in getting dome very minimal heat.
No problem. Any help is appreciated! I guess I was just throwing it out there that I was have similar issues.
