I went with a 2in daystar lift, and i been reading that you have to change the rear shocks. People mentioned skyjacker and bilstein. which should i go with and what exact model on each. I'm getting 30in wheels fitted on but needed that lil lift to avoid cutting so much from my floor board. dont know much about shocks but does it make that big a dif which i go with? thanks

It depends on what you want as far as ride goes.
I am using Skyjacker Hydro H7088 shocks in the rear. I've been happy with them. There is also the Nitrogen version N7088. You can also go with Bilstein 33-185552.
There is also a member here running Hummer H3 rear shocks.
Anything for a lifted KK (08+Libby) will work on the Nitro.

    Those should work fine.
    Here is the difference........................................ ..........Skyjacker
    Bilstein...................24-185660 .............33-185552.... Hydro H7088
    Collapsed Length (IN): 14.63....................15.91...............14.82
    Extended Length (IN): 23.68....................25.93............... 24.84
    Travel Length (IN): ......9.05....................10.17............... 10.02
The 33-185552 is longer and is more for a larger lift.
The best way to be absolutely sure is measure your shock length at ride height and also at full drop.
My Skyjacker Hydro H7088 has 10.02 travel and I am running a 2.5" lift.

cool! so your opinion what should i do. stay with the 185660's or exchange for the 185552's. its gonna have 30in wheels so no offroading for me. its just gonna be street driven, should i be ok mechanically with the 185660's? also should these shocks help a little if at all for the rear comfort wise? i appreciate all ur info thanks.

I know how much you guys love pics, theres a little teaser.:shy:

If the side wall on a 33" tire was 1.5", you would equal 33's!

Can't go wrong with that Bright Stoned White baseā€¦ You have some great ideas for your truck, hopefully you will inspire some new Nitro owners into doing theirs.

For what you are doing the 185660 should be OK. The 33-185552 will give you a little more down travel(drop), but I don't think you'll need it. The stock shock is 14-21 collapsed - extended.
The Bilstein will make the ride better for sure.
I don't know anyone here running 33" tires. Much less a 30" rim.

Sorry I took years to come back... The whole project was a bit stressful and in the end started hating the dam project and forgot to update... This is a pic of her completed... So here's a list of problems that couldn't be perfected without making the the nitro not look like a nitro... The front is almost perfect...no rubbing only thing that rubbed was the plug for foglights so I just left em unplugged... Other than that the front is about perfect after a bit of cutting...wish I can tell y'all what was cut but couldn't visit shop often to observe.... The rear is where my problems are the worst... Horizontally the tires do rub on the fender flares a bit when hitting a fairly good bump or dip and barely rubs on fender well like under back seat kinda...Other than that it's pretty good... Althought kinda hating the rough ride of the low pro tire... Would like to put mudders but she ain't 4x4 and seems a bit
