Not to distract from the thread "Have a Dodge Nitro on Order?", but I'm trying to get refreshed view of who is left on the waiting list, now that the April 13th (approx. last date for ordering a 2007) has gone by. I'm patiently waiting (only at week 6 of the wait so far) but also starting to wonder just how many people are going to be stuck in the queue over the next 10 weeks and whether it is realistic to think all of us will get one? Considering the amount of R/Ts (what I ordered) that are viewable at Canadian dealerships (only found one thanks to another Nitro Forumz poster), I'm thinking my chances are slim...Is one guy in the queue going to outweigh outstanding orders by the many dealerships still waiting for their own to come in? Perhaps some updated posts with some success stories over this next 10 week period will give us some hope.. Best of luck folks...

Bryguy, feeling insignificant? From your post, it sounds as if you think you will be left out in the cold.

If you are 6 weeks in, you shouldn't have a problem. There are at least 9 weeks of '07 production remaining. More than enough time to get your done.

Will there be orders that cross over to 2008? Most likely. As far as I know, dealerships are still submitting orders. These will most likely go in queue and get built by order date, even if they are '08s.

Outlaww17: I'm in Calgary, AB. I didn't even order MyGig and there's still such a delay. I read on here that it may have to do with the leather seats. Not sure though.

bells: Congrats on the progress! I'll probably crack open the champagne when I hear a status change on my order. :D

order my sxt last week of march and they say I have a VIN number but it has not been built yet. Teyh told me 6-10 weeks because i had ordered the appearance package and there were none currently built with that option.

Interesting, You must have just made the cut-off. I ordered an SXT on April 14 and the factory said they no longer offer the appearance package.

No big deal for me as mine is black and the fenders blend in.

I was also told 6-8 weeks. Mine is in "BG" status and is supposed to be built in May.

Once the factory stopst taking orders for the '07s the price goes up on the '08 models. If you have a VON number, your price is locked in.

I was going down to the dealer yesterday to get my deposit back on my order since I've been waiting since 06 and started to come to terms with the fact that Nitro's are just a figment of my imagination. They informed me that the order has finally been picked up by the factory and is now being built. They'll be calling me with the VIN today, how do I get ahold of DCX to find out what kind of status it's in?

What model did you order? Did it have the MyGig or something else holding it up?

Yeah, I ordered a red R/T with Mygig and remote start. At first I heard that about how it was late availability, then I heard that my dealer wasn't able to put in any orders with Mygig for a while, then around Feb the order went in, and yesterday I found out it was being built. I just heard back from the dealer who gave me the VIN and said to expect it to the dealership in about a week and a half. If that's the case then it must have been in production for much longer than since just yesterday, and he dragged his sorry behind in letting me know about it.

hey DTrain if you go to dodge.com and click on for owners section look for customer service and it will give you the number for dcx. when you call give them your vin# and they will gladly check the status for you Although my dealer is cool and i call him all the time i still called dcx regularly for myself it made me feel better. I ordered mine march 14 white r/t loaded and it went through without any problems i had a vin number a week after i ordered and it should be arriving at the dealer monday or tuesday so yeah i think your dealer was slacking and he should have been on top of things and updated you every step of the way.

Here is an update to my feeling "insignificant". In the last week, here has been the roller coaster ride.

1) I found an exact spec copy of my Nitro at another dealership. I'm thinking.. let's dealer trade for this thing and my wait is over... Wrong... Found out it was a contest win that wasn't taken. It wasn't classified as "new" so wasn't eligible for dealer trade or incentive plans and who knows what it would be from a warranty and insurance perspective :-(
2) Based on my inquiry to my dealership about this "found" vehicle, they had responded back, with the same story that Outlaww17 had, pick something else, cancel or wait with no guarantees (my order hasn't been processed = no status on it). I don't fault my dealership in stating this. I know of at least 2 dealerships who have had their R/T allocations eliminated for this year or crawled back to very few units, so I understand their thought process of not trying to false lead their customers.
3) Dealer has been trying to find an SLT with all the options as a workaround, but doesn't sound promising, but keeping my fingers crossed.
4) Sent a note off to DCX on a inquiry on my order as well as discussing the chaos in the order system. Still no response from them even after waiting the 3 business days they stated it would take for a reply.

Perhaps we need to take fia fia's approach and keep calling DCX. Amazing that we both ordered fully loaded R/T's the same week, his took 7 weeks to receive and mine has no line of site.. Congrats.. your persistence paid off...

Hang in their DTrain... you have outstanding patience... looks like you have line of site at last.. here's hoping you get yours soon...

Outlaww17 and Flashy.. you folks are troopers...I'm looking for positive news from you as I'm sure the Canadian delays are tied to a problem somewhere...let's hope your long waits are awarded soon.

Will post more if the SLT workaround comes through or updates to my original order get a response.....
