I brought the car in for the wipers stopping for no reason and they wont fix it because they are not broken.Seems to me to be very dangerous .If there is an accident could be a large lawsuit. They dont seem to care.

I noticed that if I hold the wiper switch in the manual sweep "mist" setting too long they will stop for a little while. I suspect that the computer is programmed to see this as a fault and stops the wipers, (why that is desirable, I have no idea - it seems to me that the fail safe condition should be to leave them on so if it is raining you can still see where you are going!), and then re-test that wiper switch input later. Could it be that the wiper motor has been lightened to the point where the drag from running the wipers while dry would overheat or burn up the motor? Is it simpler and just a thermal over load on the wiper motor? I am shocked that the dealer can't be more helpful.

Hi sorry i didnt get back to you sooner.I am still away .I called customer service in windsor and got the same story. They are worried thay may change the multi functional switch and that may not cure the poblem.
It sounds like it could be that. Change it anyway, nothing to lose. When you get back home, if you ever want to meet up for a Timmies, just drop me a PM and we'll arrange something...

wipers died

anyone experience problems with their wipers?? mine died yesterday but came back after about 5-10 minutes, then today they went again but have not come back. even after running for a long period of time and shutting it off and restarting it i still have no wipers. fuses are good, mist/washers work, rear wiper works, but no wipers come on at all. makes it tough to drive in a snow storm. anyone else share this problem??

I have the same problem, but the dealer in florida wont change any parts unless they are totally broken. They are worried if they send the part back to the vender and the part works the dealer has to pay the repair out of there own pocket.Mine is not totally broken but stop for a few minutes for no reason.when i wigle the rear window wiper switch they seem to come back on.Keep in touch so i can get some info also.I called customer service in windsor and got the same story

The problems with the wipers stopping has been documented for some time. In diagnosis there have been repairs performed where the wiper motor was replaced. These repairs have not corrected the problem. Further diagnosis found that the TIPM (Totally Integrated Power Module) was at fault.

Other wiper problems have been reported such as the wipers not properly parking when the wash function is activated. I am not aware of the repair for this situation at this time however. :D
