Wouldn't shut off

After driving for 6 km's in my new nitro I went to turn the engine off. I turned the key to off and removed it and wouldn't you know it the engine just keep going. The tow truck showed up 30 minutes later and the driver disconnected the battery and the nitro still keep running. He did something else and it finally shut down. It was not the best of sights to see my nitro being towed away to dealership. Anyone else out there encountered the same problem?

Sounds like a stuck celenoid? But what do I know.
